Looks like factory reset has fixed this issue up for most people, so make sure you try out these steps:

To perform a factory reset using your phone:

  1. Open the Meta Quest app on your phone.
  2. Tap Menu then tap Devices.
  3. Tap the headset connected to your phone.
  4. Tap Headset Settings then tap Advanced Settings.
  5. Tap Factory Reset and then Reset.

To perform a factory reset using the headset:

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Cloud backup will help keep your data secured while the device is being wiped. If this doesn't help, make sure you submit a bug report!

Yesterday I updated to v39 on my Quest 1. Turned it off.
This morning I turned it on, got a message about the wonders of multiple windows' workflows and after that I can't open the home menu. The Quest is useless. I can't access the library and, as a developer, I can't enable link mode. I've restarted the headset multiple times.

I'm in the house scene, I can see my controllers, hand tracking works. But the menu can't be opened.

I was able to open the settings panel once when I saw the "Enable link mode in the settings" and I clicked there. But that was a one time thing.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi, AdrianAnta! We heard you're experiencing some issues with the Quest menu, and we'd love to help. Sometimes, but not always, after you perform an update on the software, it might need to be refreshed.

We recommend signing out/into your account and restarting your headset to see if this resolves the issue you came across. Once this step has been followed, we ask that you reinstall the Oculus mobile app and then restart your mobile device.

After you completed this part, attempt launching an app on the mobile app to see if it opens. We hope this step helps, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

I found this answer elsewhere.  I had to setup a unlock pattern, working so far.

Whenever I turn on my oculus and press the oculus button my universal menu won't show up no matter what I try. Does anyone have a fix to this?

Yikes! That's definitely a strange issue.

Which device are you using? I'd usually recommend a factory reset first, since that will usually fix things like this. Cloud backup should be enabled, and you can find the steps to factory reset here. Let me know how it goes!

How do I log back in to my account after I reset

You'll be able to just enter in your account credentials again. If your account is linked to Facebook, sign in with Facebook instead of email.
