Hi Tom ,
Thanks again for your help , I'll get a cable today, see what happens after that.
I have Meta Quest Link app version 72.0.0.346.353 installed on my PC but can't find the USB speed test that you mentioned . I've disabled the power saving in all USB ports , never knew that this existed ! , Once again thank you , and I'll update after the new cable . Best regards , Gary
First of all, I recommend new users avoid going to PTC Beta options. I suggest you unsubscribe from these and go back to non-ptc stable v71. Not sure if you need to do a factory reset to do this or not. Up to you to decide what's best imho.
The usb speed test can be found by connecting your headset with link and go to the meta link pc app device settings panel and scroll down to the bottom right menu. You'll see the usb speed test close to the bottom. Please don't be afraid to explore all the meta link pc app options. Also, maybe do a bit more google research on meta link setups.
Good luck with your new link cable mate and best cheers.

Mine works very well using the official link cable connected to my z790mb usb3.2 gen2 type-c port and 500mbps encoding bitrate (set in the Oculus debug tool). First thing to do is get Link working well and also go to the meta link pc app settings/general and select Oculus as the default OpenXR runtime (don't use SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime when using Link).
I startup the meta link pc app, thne my Q3 headset and startup Link. I then go to the meta link home, get into the void by getting rid of any panels. Then click the display screen icon and pull up your PC's virtual desktop. I the select the msfs2020 shortcut (make sure you have steam running in the background if you have the steam version) and this will startup msfs2020. Once it's fully loaded and you are on the main menu, hit ctrl+tab should start VR, when you'll then be asked to hit the space bar to center yourself. When I want to quit I go back to the main screen, hit ctrl+tab to leave VR and then select exit to desktop.
Anyway, that all works well with my Q3/i913900k/rtx4090 and I hope this helps. Probably a good idea to list your pc specs and what link cable you are using imho.

Hi Tom , Thank you very much for your help !
It is now working as in I do the launch sequence as per your instructions and msfs2020 runs on the Q3 head set how ever when I move my head the sim does not follow so not going into VR?
I'm using the link cable USB C that came with the Q3 but will replace with a longer one .
Thank you again , great ! Best regards , Gaz

@gary.1957 the short usb type c cable that came with your Q3 is only for charging, not for data. So, that's probably your problem.
You need to get a decent usb3 cable. Most of these are 4-5m long. I use the official meta link cable and I think it works best but there are less expensive ones on Amazon. Maybe have a look at their reviews and see which ones users report it working well with a Q3.
When you go through the Link setup with the meta Link pc app device settings you will see a usb speed test. Run this and see what it reports. you may need to run this a couple of times to get a reading. In general, anything reported 2.2gbps or better on this test should work ok. I get 2.5gbps with my official link cable. Also, go through your windows device manager usb ports and right click on then /properties and if there is a power tab, make sure to disable any power savings.
Anyway, I hope this helps mate. Cheers.
