Meta App on PC forgets installed games

Evilplay84
Explorer

Meta App on PC has forgotten already installed games and is telling me it needs to be installed when the game is installed and sitting inside the Oculus Software folder where it's always been. I deleted the game in folder and tried installing again and while I was doing it I paused the download and when it started again, it doubled the required space for download.

I don't know what is going on with this and need help please fixing this.

I only installed it last few weeks and it was running fine before. The only thing I have done that was critical that may have affected it was a bios update maybe. Apart from that it's just the usual windows updates and they have all installed properly and laptop has been running fine with everything else.

Hey there @Evilplay84. Thank you for reaching out about this. Having to install your games to play them is not a very convenient experience, and we would be happy to help you out however we can. We always recommend submitting feedback on your issues by clicking "Help Center" in the bottom left of the PC application, then "Provide Feedback" and filling out as much detail about your issue as you can.

Running the installer again, and using the repair option is a great first step to ensure the PC application is not missing any important parts. Otherwise, have you installed your PC application in another location besides the default install location by chance?

Next, it sounds like the application is forgetting where the downloads are located. Have you changed the install location for applications? If you have not, consider doing so to manually set the search location for installed applications. You can have multiple locations and even change the default location which could help ensure more consistent locating of installed games and apps. Library Locations can be managed in the settings, under the "General" tab by clicking "Edit" next to the Library Locations option.

Please give the repair and manual Library Locations a shot, and let us know if the issue continues. We would love to look into this further to see if we can help you out!
