Meta Link cable not prompting desktop Oculus app?

I just installed everything connect to my PC with the Meta Link, but for some reason my PC auto-disconnects and doesn't get any prompt on desktop nor the desktop Oculus app.

I am using a Legion 5-15ACH6 Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 82JW (I know I need to get a better graphics card already, but I don't believe this is related to it not connecting).

Hi there @Vergent. we see you're working on setting up a link between your headset and your Laptop but it keeps auto-disconnecting. We want our players to be able to enjoy our products so we're happy to get work with you to crack this case. We do need some key information first though.

  • Are you using a link cable or Air link?
  • You mentioned no prompt comes up, do you mean no error message is given with the disconnect? (if you do get an error what is the exact message)
  • What are the specs of your computer? The link provided leads to a type of laptop but it can be customized and have different parts inserted, we need to know exactly what you're using.
  • What oculus device are you trying to connect to your laptop?

These questions will help us carve a path forward! We look forward to hearing back from you.

Ah, yes, sorry! I hadn't checked my email until now, I will  reply to the previous message above.

I'm using the link cable listed on Meta's website and a Meta Quest 2.

I had the specs listed but it was deleted due to being private information - what exact specs do you need listed here?

As for error messages, it just says that my PC had disconnected immediately after launching the Rift, nothing else, and no prompts in the Oculus Desktop App.
