Meta Quest 2 - Restarting Constantly

Had our quest 2 since Christmas and in the last week its decided to keep restarting itself. It loads with the meta logo, goes to the boundary area then 3 white dots appear then it turns off.

The on button flashes red and blue.

 

Tried charging it from different chargers, different charging points in house, removed all accessories and still doing the above. 

Having fully charged it, it just keeps restarting itself now and bleeping when coming on. 

We did see a notice about storage or something once but nothing since. 

Is there a way to resolve this instead of a factory reset as my son has bought apps and spent a lot of time on games here which I’m guessing he’ll lose.

Hello hello @deadpool.158633. We definitely want to make sure you're able to get this issue with your headset resolved. Luckily, your games and apps are attached to your Meta account, so in the event that we need to go the replacement route, you should still have access to everything. As far as troubleshooting goes, we'd like to suggest the following items below, with factory resetting being the last step to attempt. 

 

  1. Make sure the headset battery is not low.
  2. Hard reboot the headset.
    1. Hold down the power button and volume-down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound.
    2. If the boot-up sound is not heard:
      1. Hold the power and volume (-) buttons down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
  3. Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect boot (such as external battery packs, accessories that plug into the USB-C port, etc.).
  4. Factory reset.
