I have been using rift on my meta quest 2 to play PC VR games lately but I have this reoccurring issue where I get an error when I try connecting to my PC and it says something like PC disconnected, then it takes me back to the menu. When I try again my PC does not show up on the quest link list and I have to restart the device to get it to show again. This is not happening during gameplay it only happens when I connect. I have tried using different computers, link cables, USB ports, and checked for updates on the meta quest link program and meta quest 2 system.
I know it sounds like a non issue but it has been getting annoying seeing a error message 50% of the time I try to use this feature. Any advice on what the issue could be?
If you're randomly getting this message when before things were good you could have some software that is slightly out of date. Try checking your USB drivers and graphics card drivers to start and see if that resolves the issue!
I have the latest nvidia game ready drivers installed on all PCs I have used to test and this issue still occurs on all of them. I also have tried to used different usb generations like USB 3 and 3.2 and still get these random errors. messages.
Edit: I did more research and I am going to disable the windows USB power saving option in power plan. I will test this to see if it fixes my issue.
