Meta Quest 3 Battery showing incorrect after upgrade to V68

Had Meta 3 for 8 months with the Elite Battery strap and battery. No issues

Today upgraded from V65 to V68 and now the battery percentage of both the headset and the elite strap and showing wrong values. The batteries of both were full before the upgrade and straight after the headset said it was 48% and the strap battery said it was at 1%

 

We left it on the brand new charging station we got today  for 3 hours  and the battery levels have not changed much at all.  Not sure yet whether its the upgrade to V68 or the charging station that is at fault here.....or both

Hey @Bertalot! It looks like you're experiencing some issues with your Quest 3 and elite strap battery draining after the V68 update. That's definitely not what we want for your headset! Let's work together to resolve this. We can go through some troubleshooting steps to help get your VR up and running again. Are you using the original charger that came with your headset and elite strap? Also, keep in mind that leaving the headset plugged in for extended periods can harm the battery in the long run.

Hi,

Not sure its draining the battery just that the battery is showing incorrectly. To complicate things i upgraded the headset as we got the new charging dock so I'm not sure what the exact issue is yet or is it that its a combination of both. We are still testing all the different combinations but here is where we are at the moment

1. Using correct cable and adapter that came with metaquest

2. Headset is not charging no matter what angle we put it at in the cradle. Straps are as far down as they'll go and the nose piece is in correctly.

3. Son has noticed that during Gorilla Tag his had controllers now "disconnect" randomly during game play - this has never happened before with regular batteries

4. We've never had a problem with the battery or anything before we got the charging station and upgraded to V68. Now there appears to be multiple problems

5. Charging the headset with original cable without new station - battery charges fine

I'm very technical and am working through the troubleshooting myself here but I'm pretty sure we'll be returning the charging dock as it is a sub-standard product that I cannot believe Meta is actually selling and for €150! It has obviously not been tested with the Elite Strap with battery because it just doesn't charge the device unless you get it at the perfect angle and even then it just stops charging after a bit. Its possible we may have a faulty one but we'll see.....

Can we ask if the battery percentage is just showing incorrect or is it an actual charging issue that you've noticed? (As in the battery appears at a certain percentage for a long time and doesn't decrease? Or does it actually die when it shows the battery being depleted?)
