Meta Quest 3: Can't Pair Headset to Meta Quest App

Hi- Each time I try to pair my headset to the app I get the following: "Looking for headset..." -> "Headset Found" -> Then prompted to enter 5-digit code. I enter the 5 digit code from the headset and then get "Checking headset status..." -> then a pop-up message with "Can't pair headset. We've detected an issue with pairing your headset." 

Things I have tried:

  • Pairing on 3 Different Devices: iPad Pro, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13
  • Factory Resetting the device
  • Sideloading the latest firmware

What an experience so far. I had to sideload the latest firmware to begin with just to get through the "applying update..." reboot loop. Is this a real company?

Hi SOJ3,

I had the exact same experience.  I had to sideload an update to exit that loop, now I can't pair the headset with any device.  Was your issue ever resolved?

Nope. I also submitted a help ticket and got a generic AI response instructing me to factory reset the device and try again. Probably will send this piece of trash back

  • Ensure the phone is compatible with the Meta Quest App
  • Ensure the phone app and headset are on the latest available version
  • Ensure phone and headset are connected to the same network, on the same frequency
  • If the issue persists, factory reset the headset
