I have a multiplayer XR game built in Unity 2022.3.49f1 with Unity Netcode for GameObjects v1.9.1 software on headset is v69
My controllers go to sleep in ~10 seconds sometimes less when they are not having any buttons pressed. I’m using the controller itself to track constantly as part of my game but if the user doesn’t press any button or trigger it will lose tracking completely. This has never happened before. My controller batteries are great, 90% for both and I even swapped their batteries. I also have 4 other headsets and controllers and all do the same thing so clearly not a hardware issue. How do I keep the controllers from going to sleep?

META PLEASE FIX THIS.
I've figured out the problem - this is new somewhere between the software updates because this was a complete non-issue before.
Hand Tracking.
If its enabled, even if your controller is in perfect view and moving - even while gripped or not gripped (held onto a VR gun stock) if no button or trigger is pressed then it will stop tracking the controller and search for your hands even if it doesn't find your hands. Its trying so hard to find your hands that it completely disregards the controller in front of you. Which is sad because I want to use Body Tracking to create a fully animated character accurate to the player's body pose but that requires Hand & Body tracking to be enabled. I cannot have hand tracking enabled whatsoever or it will disregard my controllers. Silly. It never detected my hands anyway, and sometimes it would detect my hand - holding the controller.
Meta please fix - I want my controllers tracked no matter what. If users opt to use only their hands, their controllers would be put aside and completely stationary. If the IMU in the controller is responding its clearly in use and the Headset sensors should be focused on tracking the IR sensors on the controller not suddenly trying so hard to find the hands so badly that it disregards my controllers. Its literally game-breaking, and extremely limiting of potential in future game design if this isn't fixed. Thank you for listening to my rant.
