Meta Quest 3 File Viewer Always "Playing in immersive mode"

New to Meta Quest 3 (not to Oculus Go). Have downloaded jpgs and mp4s used on Oculus into Meta Quest but when trying to view VR180 3D files with the File Viewer or TV app the viewer is ALWAYS "Playing in immersive mode" (yes I changed the format). First, I wanted to get rid of the ghost file window which I finally did by randomly pressing buttons but I do not want VR180 3D to completely fill up my large immersive field of view which makes the photos very grainy because the photos are not that high resolution.

So, how am I supposed to get rid of the ghost File Viewer frame (and how to get it back), and two, how do I limit VR180 3D photos to a smaller window?

Same here. I just figured it was my fault for having something enabled in the settings that I'm unaware of. I tried tapping the button on the quick menu to toggle between passthrough & immersive - still won't show file.

We know it's no fun to not be able to use our devices to their full capacity so we would love to help getting this issue resolved for you. Luckily, we do have a couple of troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix this issue. 

 

  • Does the issue happen in the Home environment or with 3rd-party software?
  • Does it happen right away or after longer sessions of use?
  • Has the product been dropped or neglected?
  • Reboot the headset
  • Factory reset

We've seen these steps help people out in the past with the same issue you're having. However, if you're still having trouble after trying those steps, please don't hesitate to reach back out and let us know. We'll also be here if you have any other questions or concerns.
