My Quest 3 will suddenly restart out of nowhere and then get stuck in a rebooting cycle, repeatedly going from the meta horizon os screen to black and then back to the meta horizon os screen and so on. I have tried powering down from the boot menu and that turns the headset off, but when I start it up again it might work for 10 minutes or so before suddenly restarting and getting stuck in the loop again. I even did a factory reset and while in the initial setup after, it went into another reboot cycle. I am not sure what to do at this point. My headset is under 6 months old and I have not even been able to use it much yet.
There are numerous possibilities for a boot loop happening. We are happy to work with you to get to the root of the issue!
Here are a few points to consider:
Ensure the headset is sufficiently charged. Allow the headset to charge uninterrupted for at least two hours.
Remove all third party accessories. External battery pack, microphone, anything that is plugged directly into the headset.
Ensure no unauthorized software has been installed on the device.
If all of this points have been done and you're still stuck in a boot loop, you can consider a simple hard reboot.
Press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds.
Wait 30 seconds.
If your headset doesn't automatically turn back on, press the power button until your headset has turned back on.
If a hard reboot has not solved your issue, you may want to consider forcing an update via the Meta Quest Software Update Tool.

What are you doing when it reboots? In the middle of a game? watching video? I'm asking because if it is making the CPU work hard it could be a heat issue.
Next time it reboots, put your hand at the top of the face plate where the cooling slit is. Is the air coming out super hot? That might give you an idea if it is over heating and causing it to freeze and restart and boot loop.
Just a thought of what might be happening.

If you can't, try accessing Android Recovery. Hold Power+volup, you should get to a dead android on the floor open chest saying "No command". Then hold power, press and release volup and release power. You will get to a recovery menu then. lmk if you can access that
If you still cant access that you can try EDL mode. Hold Power+VolUp+VolDown and usually fan on the headset will start spinning at high speed and you will be able to detect USB device when connected to an external device.. There will be no LED or screen showing.

I know what a metaOS screen is. brawk said they were using the Quest 3 and it all of a sudden restarts into a boot loop. I was asking what they were doing when it started the boot loop.
