Meta Quest 3 Mic not Prioritising my voice over when recording gameplay.

Hi. I have recently upgraded to the Meta Quest 3. I have really enjoy creating content using the Meta Quest 2. However, with the Meta Quest 3, I am having a problem hearing my voice over the in game music and sound effects. I never had this problem on the Quest 2. Am I missing a setting to prioritise the voice over? I really don't want to use and external mic to record my voice. Any suggestion on what my problem could be?  My voice IS being recorded when there is no music or continuous sound effects, but it is very quiet.

Hey there @VRCricketGuy! We'd love to help your mic stand out as it should! Are you only experiencing this low-mic audio in recordings, or during gameplay? Here are some initial steps you can try to resolve this:

1. Make sure the microphone is clean and not obstructed (On Quest 3 the microphones are built into the front plate and the center camera. There is one on top of the center camera and one on either side just below the center camera.)

  • Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may block the microphone (such as a third-party facial interface, etc.)

2. Test with multiple games/apps

  • If happening only in one game/app, check the game/app permission to make sure microphone is enabled

3. Reset Microphone

  • Settings > System > Sound > Toggle Microphone

4. Reboot the headset

5. Factory Reset

Please let us know how these worked for you!

No.  This is not the problem.  As I already stated, my voice IS being recorded.  It is clear as a bell when there are no sound effects or music.  BUT when there is gameplay music OR sound effects, my voice is very quiet and can hardly be heard at all.  This was not a problem on the Meta Quest 2.

....I have recorded and published many videos using the Meta Quest 2 without any audio problems.
