Meta Quest 3 left controller moves like crazy, I can’t control it

Nammmas
Honored Guest

Hi, My Meta quest is only a couple of months old. I’ve used it probably 10 times. The left controller is acting up. It goes crazy, like I’m waving my hands around like a mad person. I have changed batteries (even tried the battery out of the right controller, didn’t change a thing), I have re-paired the controller to the head set. I have cleaned the cameras on the head set, I have used it in two different rooms (Incase it was interference). I have removed the batteries for more than 10 minutes.  I’m at a loss on what to try or do! I can’t play my usual games as I need two controllers. HELP!

Hi there!

Thank you for your response and patience.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your Private Message, and want to get you back up and running as quickly as we can!

First of all can we get a few more details about the issue you are having with the left controller.

  • Has your play area changed recently?
  • Have you tried different play spaces?
  • Are you using third-party accessories or covers with your device?
  • When does this issue occur? Does it happen only in certain games? Does it happen in the Home environment or in menus?

You can also help us narrow down what the problem is by following the steps below;

  • Ensure your area is well lit, with enough light to see clearly, but no direct sunlight
  • Ensure your area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips
  • Ensure your area is free of reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass, or polished marble
  • Ensure your environment is free of any obstructions between the tracking cameras and the controllers
  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or controller detection. For example, controller and headset covers, controller attachments, etc.

Please contact us with the results and we can help assist you further.

Thanks very much!
