My Meta Quest 3 headset will not show charge. will not turn on at all. Fan on headset is running and won't shut off till battery is completely depleted. Have had it plugged in, both on docking station and directly to headset. No change.

Hey there, @Christopher131313! We want to get you back into playing as quickly as possible so we're happy to look into this. We do have some questions for you on this.

  • when you put it on the charger/charging dock does an LED light come on?
    • is so, what color and is it solid or blinking?
  • Are you using the original charge block that came with your Quest 3? Or a 3rd party one?
  • Are there any troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?

We're looking forward to hearing back form you on this!

I also have the fan running and back screen will not start ?.  Need Help. Thanks.

We managed to get the meta Quest back up and running. We had to start from scratch.

How did you start from scratch? I'm black screen, fan running, charge light does not show up when plugged into the charge cable that came with the headset.

I left the head set on for what I thought was for over 8 hrs. Made sure battery was completely dead. Then plugged it in for full charge. After that I didn’t try to start it. It hit the master reset. Then followed instructions on how to reload everything. It was more like  just getting lucky I think. But that’s what I did. Charge to full or what you think is full for head set and controllers then run them dead by just letting them sit. Recharge everything but don’t just turn on headset. Go straight to master reset. It’s been over a year since I did this and haven’t had a problem since. I believe master reset is holding the power button in the on position for over 30 seconds to 1 minute. Something like that. It took several attempts for me to get it to work. So be patient.
