Meta Quest 3S having extreme graphical issues with SteamVR and Quest Link Virtual Space

Hello! I'm fairly new to VR, only just recently getting my hands on a Quest 3S, however when trying to connecting it through a link cable into a USB 3.0 port my pc and trying to use both Quest Link and SteamVR I just have serious graphical issues ranging from extreme lagging/stuttering on the Quest Link virtual space and while no lagging and stuttering on SteamVR I instead have major graphical issues ranging from but not limited to, incorrect colors, and both eyes not displaying different things (On the left eye I have the incorrect colors and mirrors of the play space, on the right eye it is a pure harsh green). I've tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot the issue, but I have yet to find a solution.

Thank you for contacting us regarding your graphic issues with Quest Link on the Meta Quest 3S. This is not what we want you to have and we will help you to resolve this as soon as possible. I would suggest you check the Windows PC compatibility requirements to use the Meta Quest Link through this public article here. In the meantime, Please could you help you clarify these questions as below: 

 

  • What error messages, if any, does the customer see?
  • When did you first notice this issue?
  • Did any of the devices (phone, headset, PC) receive any updates?
  • Does the headset work when not connected to a PC?
  • What type of cable is the customer using? Try another compatible cable, if this is possible for you. For example: included USB Charging Cable, Meta Quest Link Cable
  • Is an adapter or cable extender being used?
  • How many other USB devices does the customer have connected to their PC?

We will be able to help you further to bring  your VR experience returns smoothly once we have these responses. We look forward to your reply!

I pass all the requirements listed in PC compatibility, as for the rest of the questions.

  • None.
  • Today, the first day I received my Quest 3S.
  • No, the 3S is fresh and my PC hasn't needed any updates.
  • Yes the headset works, as well as AirLink.
  • I'm using a highly rated 3rd party Quest Link Cable.
  • No adapter or extender is being used.
  • In my other 3.0 USB slot I have my microphone, aside from that things like my mouse and keyboard are in a 2.0 USB slot.

Hi @deegso, thank you so much for your quick response and confirmation. It seems that you are having the performances graphic issues, we will then suggest you to try these following steps as below:

 

  • Disable Wi-Fi on the Quest Headset. 
  • Guide the customer through these steps to ensure their Link graphics settings are set to default:
  1. Open the Meta Quest PC app on your computer.
  2. Click Devices on the left side of the app.
  3. Click Quest and Touch.
  4. Click Graphics Preferences.
  5. Click Reset to default.
  6. Click Save and Restart

  • Uninstall ASUS AI Suite or ASUS AI Suite 3 if installed
    This software is an all-in-one application that allows users to make modifications to motherboard components such as CPU, USB, Wi-Fi, LAN and more. When troubleshooting any issues that use devices affected by this software, it is recommended to uninstall ASUS AI Suite, and test to see if the issue remains or disappears. PC may need to be restarted after removing this software.
  • Uninstall Oculus Tray Tool if installed, as it contains settings for resolution, super sampling, etc.

This is seems to be the same problem reported over at https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Meta-quest-3s-Green-screen-on-Steam-Link/td-p/1251049... hasn't been solved except a workaround. OP most likely uses a AMD GPU.

Yup, same exact issue. I use a AMD RX 5700XT, is the current work around to launch Quest Link and directly load the game on steam instead of loading up SteamVR? Is that what I read correctly?
