Meta Quest Link - Link Stopped / We Can't Find Your Headset error when connecting through Cable Link

Ever since the week of February 13, I've encountered great difficulties and problems to use Meta Quest Link through Cable Link.

The main issue is that when connecting through Link, the Meta Quest Link dashboard boots up briefly only for the headset screen to suddenly freeze and artifact.
Looking back into the PC app, it gives the error "Link stopped working, if this persist, there may be an issue with your cable" as well as "We can't find your headset. Please connect your headset. " alongside the other error message.

I've been trying and have attempted all the common solutions for it, hardware is up to date (USB ports are 3.0) and compatible, drivers are up to date, I have used the Repair option for Meta Quest Link and have done many reinstalls of it, as well as factory resetting my Quest 2.

I have looked through the OculusDebugTool for answers, and the logs indicate errors regarding to xrStreaming and among other error messages, screenshots attached for reading.

This problem has persisted since the updates for the Meta Quest Link pc app and Meta Quest 2 updates, and I've been very frustated over this issue for weeks now. I need help to know how to fix this issue, as it has been clear that is a software issue rooting from the Meta Quest Link pc app since the recent updates.

Just wanted to say i have the exact same problem, so you are not alone. I hope they stop breaking things with forced updates.

If they deprecate the Quest 2 like they does with the quest 1 they dont stop to break things.

Tips : an alternative solution that could work is to use Virtual Desktop 🙂

I have virtual desktop, but thats wireless. All wireless connections are working, including the meta wireless, but they are considerably worse than a cable connection, so im stuck with a horrible latency setup until they fix this.

I activated the PTC in the settings of the horizon app, it downloaded a new update with new drivers, then i restarted the headset and i noticed the logo changed to "horizon OS". After that everything worked smoothly, seems they fixed the issue in the PTC.

I have attempted to be in the PTC for the Meta Quest Link desktop app, but in the mobile app to configure it for the Quest 2, it shows that the enrollment program is full. Even with PTC on for Meta Link PC app, the "Link stopped" error message alongside the crash/freeze still happens.

The enrollment program is always full on the app, just ignore it. Do it through the Meta Link APP, then restart EVERYTHING, it needs to download and install a lot of things, if you just turned it on but didnt see anything being downloaded, then its  not working. Maybe try using the "restart meta quest software" option. Doing all of that worked for me.
