So, few days ago Meta Quest Link app on my PC updated to PTC v71 and now it opens its window on every PC boot. There is no option to disable this behavior in the app.
What's worse I couldn't even find any registry or Task Scheduler entry that causes it. Seems like Oculus VR Runtime Service suddenly started opening the app on startup (this is the only Oculus/Meta related thing that Windows starts on boot).
Please either revert this change or add option to stop this.

Having the same issue. The Meta Quest Link app reopens instantly after being closed, and the oculus service needs to be stopped to prevent this.
I have Rift CV1, and this bug is in the PTC release currently. The normal build (v69) doesn't have the problem.
Please fix this before pushing the ptc release to live!

Well, for me at least it doesn't reopen after I close it (I have Quest 3 connected over Air Link).

I see, probably not unrelated to your problem.

Same issue here, it just started to run at boot a few days ago. Can't find a setting in the program to disable it and can't find anything in Windows settings or task manager to disable.

Hey there @revanmj!
You can try to disable and opt out of PTC to see if it helps resolve your issue.
Or you try to reinstall the Quest Link App either normally or when you have opted out of PTC to see if that works.
Also please send a bug report to our team as well!
Hope this helps! 🐢

I don't have PTC V71. And I signed up to public test so not sure why once again I've been overlooked. And the avatars look horrible. I was hoping to do the selfie photo in the quest so I don't look like I have one foot in the grave that your app did to my image.

Previous versions run in the background. Meta is probably spying on users.
This is a well-known antitrust pattern in programming, when you close an application and something is still running in the background and you are not informed about it, or you have no way to disable it.
1)
Try to disable and set to "Manual" start two services:
- Oculus VR Library Service
- Oculus VR Runtime Service
Don't worry, they will start when you run Meta Quest Link and will stay running till point 2 (see bellow)
2)
Create a *.bat file with the lines and run it as administrator EVERYTIME when you stop use Meta Quest Link app. Of course you must run Meta Quest Link manually when you want to use link cable/airlink.
net stop OVRService
net Stop "oculus vr runtime service"
