Meta Quest Move App no longer tracking anything

Macromania

My meta quest 2 move app has stopped tracking calories  and time (everything) from today.

Everything stat stays at zero independent of what games/exercise i undertake.

I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the iphone app, a factory reset, and deleting all the history.

I've wasted all day on this and lost all my fitness history as a result.

Spent a good hour on chat and phone call with Quest support and they couldn't resolve either.

Now appears my wife's quest also has the same issue so thinking it can't be related to my one account all though I do have secondary accounts on each quest.

Anyone else having a similar problem or found a resolution?

It’s now July 2023 I noticed no one ever replied to your concern from October 2022. I just started using the Move app and for 9 days my Oculus headset is showing my data, but my Meta app on my iPhone shows no move data, but Meta app shows it last synced today.  I’m very frustrated!  Now my iPhone is not receiving any data in my Health and my Fitness app is now harassing me about my inactivity.  Meanwhile I’m hitting 400-500 cals a session when I play and wanted to share the data with my doctor, but cannot.

Hello there! Our engineers are actively looking into this and I have a thread where I am staying updated with everyone about this issue. I will go ahead and merge you to them!

We are all mad here.

It looks like you merged a barely-related concern to this thread.  Can we keep this thread about “move not recording any movement in the headset” rather than “move not syncing with phone?” And please clarify that these slow-moving engineers have made this distinction in their supposed support attempts?

Will do. However, I put these together because they are all about the App either not connecting or not tracking. But, will try to separate these 2 issues. Thank you so much.

We are all mad here.

The issue has persisted for many of us for past few months. Aside from the fact that the move app no longer tracks time or estimates calories  the app also constantly interrupts other applications to let the user know it has stopped working. This is the case even when notifications are turned off.

This is the first anyone has mentioned any notifications pertaining to the Move app on the headset.  Are you sure you’re not talking about cell phone notifications due to a sync issue?  If so, that should be rerouted to another discussion.   This is for the issue where the move app doesn’t work on the headset

I want to apologize for being the one to comment in reply to a bunch of posts.     I don’t much fancy being the “keeper of the conversation” but I want to make sure this thread doesn’t become a muttled mess of iPhone sync issues and user error on top of the initial problem- Move app doesn’t work on the headset itself.  I’ve also pushed the “stop tagging this post as solved” agenda.  I don’t want Meta looking at this thread and saying “these people are all over the place and we’ve given them some solutions to nuke their devices- they’re on their own.”  This is because I want this issue to be actually fixed.   I apologize if this has come across the wrong way, but hope the motivation behind this is appreciated.

Has anyone had any success factory resetting the headset to make it start tracking again? I didn't want to try this because I shouldn't have to, but due to the length of time this is taking to fix I am considering it, especially if it's worked for others.

Don't apologise, you're doing great work.

There are countless people with this issue and the constant updates keeping this live will help get us a solution (hopefully).

I suspect we'll have to wait for one of these engineers to experience the issue themselves, before they decide to try and fix it lol... This has been an ongoing issue for almost 3 months, with no meaningful fix or even update.

Would like to know this too.
