Meta Quest Pro controllers keep losing tracking/connection

Since the last update i have problems with my controllers, they keep losing tracking. In VR I see them dissapearing however the menubuttons stil work. After a little while (sometimes 15 seconds sometimes up to a minute) they come back up. Reaaly annoying, absolutly unplayable.

  • I use them in the same room as always (where they have always workerd).
  • The room was lit the same way or better

Fixes Tried:

  • Restart
  • Turning off, waiting a couple hours and trying again
  • Full recharge
  • Soft reset
  • Hard reset
  • Boot menu boot
  • Unpairing and repairing controllers
  • Factory reset controllers (red/white blinking procedure)
  • Factory reset headset

After all this they still keep losing their tracking for short times but very reguarly.

I'm out of options, what to do next??

Hey there, @D3xterMorg4n! We understand how important it is to having functioning controllers, so let's work together to get them fixed up and running optimally!


  • When was the last time the tracking worked properly?
  • Are you using any third-party accessories or covers?
  • Is it one controller, or both? Do they lose tracking at the same time, or each one experiences the issue independently? 
  • Is the issue only in the home environment and menus, or does it only happen in specific games? Or any time?
  • What color are the lights on the controller when this happens?
  • Although your lighting has remained the same, is there direct sunlight, LEDs, or Christmas lights around that could be affecting it when they did not previously?

In addition, we recommend doing the following:

  1. Clean the controllers.
    • Compressed air can be used to remove debris inside the controller.
  2. Remove unsupported third-party accessories.
