Meta Quest Pro not seeing or connecting to Ubiquiti Unifi 6Ghz networks

Looks like there are posts tacking on to some of the PTC notices, etc. But I figured starting a new conversation that is focused on this issue instead of trying to get help interjected into another thread is the best approach. All of us leveraging the Ubiquiti "Unifi" network ecosystem (specifically the Unifi 6 Enterprise access point) and the Meta Quest Pro are having issues with connecting to 6Ghz wifi from our MQP. I happen to also own an HTC Vive XR Elite, which is connecting, as expected, to my 6Ghz Network. I am attaching screenshots from the respective Wifi browsers, WLANScanner for Android, etc. in effort to get the ball rolling on getting this fixed as it likely is something that will need to collectively be fixed across Meta and Ubiquiti Networks.

Due to software restrictions I cannot get screenshots or video from the wifi networks view on the Quest Pro, so I am not able to show what appears there, however it does not display any of the the 6Ghz exclusive networks. When networks are on both 5 and 6Ghz it will only ever connect to 5Ghz rather than 6Ghz.

The Meta Quest Pro does see a beacon network that Ubiquiti makes available for older versions of Android (10 and 11) to help provide hints about the 6Ghz networks since network broadcasting works differently with 6Ghz than it does on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz.

FYI this is a Quest Pro issue 100%

We have a U6-Enterprise and an ASUS GT-AXE16000 and the Quest Pro cannot see either of them, but the Focus 3 and XR Elite can. Claims that "commercial routers may not work" is pure rubbish too. WiFi is WiFi. the only issue may be if you're using Enterprise-grade security, but if you're using WPA3-Personal it should work absolutely fine.

My only suggestion is that it doesn't like certain channels. I know the Focus 3 can be a bit weird with the higher frequencies in 6Ghz so maybe try a lower one? However given the fact that our configuration works with the Focus I would not expect good results from the

That being said, I would return the U6-Enterprise anyway. It doesn't perform well at all for streaming, we spent months trying to get it working with the Focus 3 including a lot of back and forth with Ubiquiti, and found the performance to be worse than using 5Ghz on the AC-Pro. The ASUS (and the equivalent Netgear RAXE300/500) perform significantly better and can support up to 4 users at once easily.

I'm using 3 x Quest Pros in my current development, all are on v57, 2 (including the one I'm about to talk about) are new and only just set up for the first time in the last week.

One of the devices constantly loses its connection the the 6ghz wifi (I have smart steering etc disabled and split the SSID's in to 6, 5 and 2.4 ghz versions).

After losing the connection, sometimes it will just come back, sometimes it will vanish from the list, with the 5 and 2.4 versions still visible.

The router is directly behind me, the other headsets on my desk remain stable connected at 6ghz.

The bad headset so far seems stable on (and can always see) 5ghz.

I've tried rebooting, hard-rebooting, and forgetting the network (the last time I tried that, the network just vanished from the list for 15 minutes). Tomorrow I will try a factory reset and see if it helps.

Hey there, @Alex.iXtenda! We see your Meta Quest Pro is not seeing or connecting to Ubiquiti Unifi 6Ghz networks. Going online and playing the games you want can be a lot of fun. That's what we'd love for you to experience, and we're here to guide you in the right direction! We advise trying another network, and performing a factory reset on your device. If these steps don't work for you, we recommend reaching out to developer support where they'll be able to provide you with more assistance using their resources.

I have also the Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Enterprise (Device Version 6.5.62) and Meta Quest 3 on v59. I tried a lot of different settings - but my Quest 3 only connects to the 5GHz or 2.4GHz an not with the 6GHz Band. Im 2m near to the access point. Its very sad, because I primary upgraded to this Wifi 6e Access Point only because of the Meta Quest 3 Headset for PCVR Streaming. I hope there will be a solution soon.

Hey @t.humer! We know how exciting PCVR can be when connected to the 6Ghz band, and we wouldn't want your VR experience to be anything less than stellar. Not to worry; we'd be happy to dive deeper to try and help get you connected. Let us help you get to the bottom of this issue. Can you please try disabling the dual-band feature of the router so the headsets can be on the same channel? This may prevent the headset from joining another channel, which can impact the Wi-Fi signal.

I also have this issue.

The latency and disconnects are horrigic on 6ghz, where the quest 3 is the only device. The quest 3 disconnects regularly, and has terrible latency spikes.

When i am on 5ghz on the same AP i have no issues whatsoever.  Short version is quest 3 doesn't work with 6ghz unifi access points

Hi there, @Scyto! Making sure you're able to enjoy your VR experience to the fullest is definitely a priority for us, and we certainly understand how important your Wi-Fi connection is to that! If you've tried out the troubleshooting steps we've sent already and have disabled that dual-band feature of your router to no avail, we'd love to take a further look into this for you. Feel free to shoot us a PM, and we'll review this for you from our side. Simply select our name to get to our profile page, or click here. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us. Hey, hey @Scyto! We're checking in to make sure you were able to get that Wi-Fi issue looked into, or if you've run into any further trouble with that at all. We want to make sure everything went smoothly for you along the way, so please don't hesitate to reach back out with a PM!

sorry for the delay, sent you a DM

Here is how i got a connection:

1. Have a 2.4ghz + 5ghz SSID

2. Have another SSID with different name and 5ghz and 6ghz

3. Join the quest to the second SSID and now it should find the 6ghz band just fine, that said once it joins the 6ghz band you will hit atrocious latency issues
