Gday Meta Quest devs,
I'm having an issue where my Meta Quest Pros has been bricked for a couple months and I need to use it now - so rather than holding off fixing it, I want to get it back up and running.
Steps:
- I've Factory Reset the headset
- It takes me through the setup
- I connect to wifi and then it does an update (takes about 30 seconds)
- I'm now at a screen 'Pair your headset with the Meta Quest app to continue setup. Go to the Google Play Store or Apple app Store.... You may need to enter this pairing code: 9 7 X X X. Having trouble pairing? Go to Settings and select your headset. If it doesn't appear, select Pair New Headset <white separator> If you're connecting this device to your organization: [Set up Meta Quest for Business]'
- When I go on Meta Horizon app and pair the device via [Add device] -> [Meta Quest Pro] -> 'Look in your headset for a 5-digit code and enter it here. _ _ _ _ _'
- I enter the code and it says 'Can't pair yet. You can continue pairing after your headset updates. Begin updating your device, then put it on its charging dock. It will play a sound when it's ready to pair. [Close]'
How do I start the update?
I've tried going [Set up Meta Quest for Business] but that just gives me 'An error occurred, please try again.' when generating a new device code.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

@tdanuc I've done a couple of factory resets with my +2.5yo QPro and never had this issue. When I use my iPhone with the meta app (make sure wifi and BlueTooth are both enabled) I've never needed to enter any paring codes during the setup. As long as I have wifi and BT enabled, the pairing all seems to get done automatically.
Afterwards, with the meta-link pc app started up, I enable Air Link and it finds my PC, then launch. I normally find it best to go to the quest home link setting and wait for things to refresh and get all green check marks, and then launch. The paring code then appears on my headset and the same code appears on my meta-link PC app, and I just confirm that these codes are the same (they always are). I've never needed to enter paring codes.
So, I'm not sure why you're having this issue. Maybe try downloading the meta-link app from the meta support website and run a Repair. Otherwise, contact meta support including your log files (google how to do this) and see if they can help. Goodl luck mate and cheers.
