Meta Quest Remote Desktop Login Loop Windows 10

DrSwarm

Hello Everyone!

I have been trying to get Meta Quest Remote Desktop to work for my windows 10 pc for a while now and noticed many people seem to have the same problem as me but no solution. I currently can get it to work on my Microsoft Surface Pro 7 on windows 11 but really want it to work on my other pc.

My issue is I open the app, it asks to login, edge takes me to the login page. I log in. It appears to connect similarly to what it looks like on my surface, but then after a few seconds asks me to login again. I've tried a ton of things to get this to work but no luck (used firefox browser, uninstalled app, uninstalled oculus app, disabled all firewalls, changed monitor resolution, ect)! Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Same exact issue here. On windows 10 22h2 log into the app, app shows no devices. Then about 30 seconds later it asks me to login again. I do and again no devices found. I have NVIDIA 3080

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue. My PC is running Windows 10 22H2. GPU is an NVidia 1050 TI running the latest NVidia drivers. App is v1.15.0.14.301. The remote desktop app returns to the login screen after 15 seconds.

I have two other machines working fine - A 2015 Macbook, running Ventura using Opencore. That machine has two GPU, an Intel Iris Pro and an AMD Radeon M370x.

My other PC on another network PC is also fine, Same Windows 10 OS, running an NVidia 3070.

In this folder - C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Local\Oculus\morstan, the log file shows

[info][Morstan][2023-11-09T08:33:40.839Z] ["Xr2dsIpc is not connected, connecting..."]

and

[error][Morstan][2023-11-09T08:33:40.849Z] ["ERROR: Server (RTC) failed to start with Xr2ds error: NOT_CONNECTED"]
[info][Morstan][2023-11-09T08:33:40.850Z] ["Xr2ds startResponseCode: NOT_CONNECTED"]

Same Here! You are not alone. Exact same issue.

I have  windows 11 22h2 log into the app, app shows no devices. Then about 30 seconds later it asks me to login again.

I do and again no devices found. I have NVIDIA 4090 and AMD 5900X CPU!

Hey there,

I work on a Thinkpad 480s with my quest 3 and it ran well before the update.

Is there a chance to get the version before 1.15.0.18.301 ?

Same Here!
get to the "Continue with Meta account" button again and again.
When will Meta solve this problem?

It's disappointing to see how many people are having issues with this Meta Quest Remote Desktop login loop -- I wanted to encourage all of those having the issue to submit a report using the following process, hopefully this will give the Meta team more insight into your systems to get to the bottom of this problem!

How to submit a bug to the Meta Quest Remote Desktop team with System Information

If you do submit your info after following these instructions please give this comment a thumbs up, so we can track how many people are still having this issue and encourage the team to look into this.

It's working well for me on the Macbook Air M1 but we've got a number of people in the Horizon Workrooms Community who are also experiencing the issue reported here too.

Thanks!

Hey @NathanSudo thanks for following up, I don't want to speak on behalf of all the other users, but I know for myself that the app doesn't do anything when trying to submit the actual bug report (assuming you can click it before it logs you out), I've tried to get it to work a number of times but even if I am able to click the button to get the submission dialogue it says: "Something went wrong submitting your feedback. Please try again."

@BlameChris  So glad you took the time to share this!  I had a similar problem recently with submitting a report via Workrooms.com -- it's very frustrating when you take the time to try and submit a report and that's not working!

I'm going to try to relay this issue to the Meta team because that's a major issue that will prevent them from getting those valuable reports -- I'm curious to know if others have the same issue.  I didn't realize the bug icon wasn't showing unless you are logged in, that seems to be another oversight if that's the case because you wouldn't be able to report the bugs that prevent login.

Hopefully we can get this the attention it deserves!

Yep, I found that also. Even trying the cut and paste trick to get the info in before it logs out doesn't work.

When I'm back at my other site with the PC with the problem, I'll endeavour to pull out the Nvidia 1050Ti card and try it with the onboard graphics. I went to try this last weekend but didn't have a VGA cable to hand! I'll try and do that this weekend.
