Meta Quest Remote Desktop Login Loop Windows 10

DrSwarm
Honored Guest

Hello Everyone!

I have been trying to get Meta Quest Remote Desktop to work for my windows 10 pc for a while now and noticed many people seem to have the same problem as me but no solution. I currently can get it to work on my Microsoft Surface Pro 7 on windows 11 but really want it to work on my other pc.

My issue is I open the app, it asks to login, edge takes me to the login page. I log in. It appears to connect similarly to what it looks like on my surface, but then after a few seconds asks me to login again. I've tried a ton of things to get this to work but no luck (used firefox browser, uninstalled app, uninstalled oculus app, disabled all firewalls, changed monitor resolution, ect)! Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

@Klaas.hmtx Are you getting the login loop? It's working on my Macbook Air M1 with the latest version of Sonoma -- you may need to uninstall and reinstall again if you are having issues.  Give that a try and let us know.  I'm not aware of any issues affecting Macbooks using M1 at the moment but I'll check in with the Workrooms Community

Well, I'm trying to access Meta Quest Remote and it doesn't connect to my glasses.

I always get that message, but inside the glasses it doesn't say anything... it just doesn't connect... I've tried everything and haven't gotten anything!

I have verified that the glasses and the computer are on the same network.
I have verified that they are connected to the 5G network
I have checked that the graphics card and Windows 10 are updated
I have verified that the firewall acted as a firewall
I have deleted the applications in safe mode and reinstalled them again

I have opened the application as administrator

NOTHING works....

Hi @Killkaze! Can you use Quest link (Air link = wifi) to connect yr PC? if yes, that means yr connection is fine between Q3 and PC. And make sure yr pc not in failure login loop. You just need to open the Meta Horizon Workplace or Meta remote connect apps in Q3, and it will show up and connect automatically to yr pc.

Hi Tonybb8, Indeed, the glasses connect perfectly through Quest link, there is no problem there, but Meta Quest Remote Desktop does not work...

Hi,

I have never been able to make this work on my laptop, not even now with v62 installed on my Quest 3.
I have the "login loop" issue that some other users have described above. The Workrooms software on my google can't find my laptop, while the Meta Quest Remote Desktop software on my laptop asks to logon, which I do, then shows "No available devices" for a few seconds, and then asks to logon again, starting over the process.
Laptop PC running Windows 10 Enterprise version 22H2 OS Build 19045.4046
AMD Radeon Vega 8 GPU
Quest 3 running:
System version 49829370066100510
Version 62.0.0.273.343.570372087
Runtime version 62.0.0.269.341.570372063
OS version SQ3A.220605.009.A1

Funny fact it works perfectly with my home PC...!
PC running Windows 10 Pro
GPU AMD Radeon RX 6600
Version 22H2
OS Build 19045.4046

I am pretty sure this must be some kind of issue of the Meta Quest Remote Desktop PC software with certain PC setups.

Looking forward a solution!!

Thanks

Similar issue. I have both remote desktop on pc and workrooms on oculus open. I have the oculus search for the desktop and it is stuck searching for it and pc is telling me to go to my headset to connect due to there being "no available devices", although it is right next to it, then ask me to log back in. this still occurs even if I am having it use a cable connection.

I'm with this issue too, couldnt fix it, can you help me?

These issues are very frustrating and with the Workrooms Community we've been trying to pinpoint where the issue is, some people have found that it definitely seems to work differently depending on hardware/drivers but so far there's a subset of devices that we haven't found a solution for the login loop issue or this issue with not seeing the device on the network.

Sometimes this is a network related issue it seems but it sometimes is also some hardware/software configuration that isn't clear.  Many times people can still use Immersed even if they can't use Workrooms so it seems specific to the Remote Desktop and Workrooms relationship.

For issues where the device isn't even seen, if you can connect another device on the same network that doesn't necessarily but likely could mean it's something with the device specifically but it might be worth rebooting your router in case there's some issue there that's blocking detection.  Also if you are a 2.4/5ghz connection that isn't separated, it could be problematic if one device is on 2.4 and the other is on 5Ghz, if you have the ability to separate the channels that could help.

I'd be happy to connect directly to help troubleshoot, if you can join the Workrooms Community and send me a DM that's the best way to connect or send a DM here within the community.

Some things we've seen work for people...

1. Logout of Workrooms in the browser or logout of your Meta account and try again -- this solved the issue for at least one person with the login loop/device not showing.
2. Uninstall Oculus PC app and Remote Desktop from the desktop, reinstall -- but sadly I believe you lose some game data if you do this with the Oculus app, it seems there's sometimes a conflict between the PC app and the Remote Desktop not sure why.
3. Restarting router or checking into the network/antivirus/firewall security on the PC or network connection -- especially in situations where it works on one device but not the other, it's possible it's software on the device that's blocking the connection but it also could be some unknown conflict so this isn't a guarantee.

I believe these issues are on the radar of the Workrooms team but not sure if any pattern or solutions have been found at this point, hopefully we'll have some answers in the near future because it's very frustrating when you can't use your preferred device inside!

I have tried all of that, even reinstalling everything from scratch, even connecting by cable from the Wi-Fi to the computer and from the computer to the glasses... and nothing... I can't get it to work... All I have to do is think that my computer is too old...

These are its specifications:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4930K CPU Processor @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070 Ti Graphics Card
