Meta Quest Remote Desktop Login Loop Windows 10

Hello Everyone!

I have been trying to get Meta Quest Remote Desktop to work for my windows 10 pc for a while now and noticed many people seem to have the same problem as me but no solution. I currently can get it to work on my Microsoft Surface Pro 7 on windows 11 but really want it to work on my other pc.

My issue is I open the app, it asks to login, edge takes me to the login page. I log in. It appears to connect similarly to what it looks like on my surface, but then after a few seconds asks me to login again. I've tried a ton of things to get this to work but no luck (used firefox browser, uninstalled app, uninstalled oculus app, disabled all firewalls, changed monitor resolution, ect)! Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Similar situation here, I login on the desktop (virtual desktop works fine, so use that, then close it) and then I can get into Workrooms. However, once there, I go to connect to my desktop and it just continues to login in a loop, not bringing up any screen but I see the computer available. A little different than this (although each time I reboot my computer I have to re-login to remote desktop via virtual desktop app.

Hi. I'ave the same problem on win 10. Please could you send me the soluzion?

Unfortunately, a lot of people experiencing this issue, myself included, cannot use the report function in the Remote desktop app as we are always met with an error when we try to submit our reports.

Had the same problem with a fresh install today.

Contacted support which stated: "Please be advised that, following the latest update, your laptop will no longer be operational."
Which was a bit of a bold statement so I asked to confirm and they came back with this: "With the new update you won't be able to login to Meta Remote Desktop on a Laptop.".

When I asked why, i got the following: "due to the update made some changes.".

I decided to leave it at that and accept my losses.

No it is not fixed or you put the bug back into the SW.

I wanted to try Meta Quest Remote Desktop and it was a big fail. I will avoid any Meta SW at all costs from now on. It is just pathetic for a company as big and as influencial as Meta to release a product like this to be the spearhead of VR?!

* I wanted to try Meta Quest Remote Desktop. First I installed on my Q3 then it asked me to 'send'?! a link to my computer via mail?? Seriously?! The Q is connected to my computer and on my computer is Quest application up and running. Why the heck is pop-up is not opened on my computer automatically so I just have to click on it?

* I switched to my computer and f*ing retyped the link to download Q Remote Desktop. (There is no difference between typing a mail address or an URL.) Installed the software and followed the instructions to log in, which did something for a second and then asked to log in again, which I did and resulted of something being processed, just to bring me back to the login screen. I gave up trying Q Remote Desktop. That was yesterday

* Today I start my computer and get a login screen from: Meta Quest Remote Desktop (WTF?!?! I was never asked nor did I agree to have some software started at boot up. This SW didn't even run. The f..).

* I closed the login screen. Unfortunately closing it (X upper right corner of the window) just minimizes it to tray. If this is nice practice to do is arguable. I right click on the tray icon and and choose 'close'. Guess what, it does restart and bring back the login screen. No that's not a userfriendly behavior but the opposite. And it is not a nice way to code to have the application ignore termination events and even work actively against them.

* Why does it automatically start again when closed? I thought it will be a Windows service but hell no. Or maybe Meta intentionally chose a name that is not easy to identify  Assuming if it was a service, the name would be something like 'Oculus', 'OVR', 'Meta' but there is no such service beside the normal two OVR sevices. Either or choosing a different name or not to use the normal way of keep things running by using Windows services, this just adds to frustration.

I just hope the application does not continue the path of creating a bad UX and hopefully it does a uninstall.
