Meta Quest chat app for web or pc

In my meta quest "home" i can bring up "people" and select one to chat with.

In the "Meta Quest" app on my iOS device, i can do the same, like text chatting.

But is there a web user interface for that? Like can i open a web browser, and chat with my Meta Quest friends? or is there a mac / windows based app for that?

It used to be possible to chat using the Oculus PC app.

Unfotunately about 1.5 years ago the chat (and other social features) was removed from the PC app.

I still miss it.😢

So, to chat with friends, you have to use either the mobile app or the headset itself.

well that sucks. i have to have iMessage, skype, FB Messenger and WhatsApp open on my computer to catch all communication, and now i have to have my phone open to this Meta Chat thing separately, so i don't miss folks messaging me there? that's nuts. there needs to be a web ui at LEAST, or better a native app for mac/windows, or EVEN better, just fold it in to FB Messenger

Another option is to wear the headset all the time.....this is probably Mr. Zuckerbergs pipe dream😂

....I agree, there should be an option to chat via PC...especially since mobile chat is not reliable at all.

if you use Windows instead of Mac OS you can use the phone link on PC.

There's meta horizon, which you can chat on desktop with. https://horizon.meta.com/

It looks a lil jank but it's the same concept as the IOS app.

But since Meta horizon is not available to me - I'm from Germany - this probably won't work.

Actually I just want the chat option back in the Oculus pc app.....

And yes, I know, I'm acting like a stubborn little child😂

Well, aside from using a VPN to access it, I really don’t know then. I actually didn’t know that it wasn’t available in most countries. 

As much as I’d love to help, I don’t think Meta’s gonna put that back in, they’re way too big to listen to smaller community efforts 😅

I hope they do though, good luck to you on this quest. (pun intended 😁)
