Meta app asking for date of birth

Upon going to my Meta app for the first time in a little while, it is prompting me to enter my date of birth. Firstly, I don't see why I am being asked to do this, as I am logged into the app and my account already has my date of birth entered. Secondly, if I do try to enter it in the prompt, can I simply type it like a normal human being? Noooo, it expects me to swipe across literally hundreds of months in order to get to my birthdate, as there is no way to type, nor any way to navigate through the calendar a year at a time. I am not going to sit here like a chimp swiping across a month at a time until a finally get to my birth year. That would be bad enough for an 18 year-old, let alone for someone who is going to have to swipe six hundred times! Can I get in touch with support? Of course not, as, apparently, the support team can only help with questions relating to a device. Ridiculous!

So, is there anyone here from the support team who can assist with this ridiculous situation?

you should also receive an email with the option to re-enter your birth date on a webpage.

Sadly. I saw this option only after I had already put in the date in the app........with very, very long scrolling😂

Yes, doing it like that is really not a good idea.

I hate clicking on links in emails, so went to the app to enter my DOB and what a stupid UI that turned out to be. 

You'd think that they'd know how to collect dates of birth, which by their nature will potentially be well into the past, especially for old peeps like me.  🙄

Not impressed at all.
