Meta app crashing on WiFi setup

Chigaming23
Honored Guest

I just factory reset my Quest 1 due to my previous account showing as “deleted”.  After the reset I am able to pair to the app but I can not get the WiFi portion to take.  As soon as I select the WiFi I want to connect to and start the password prompt the whole app closes and takes me back to the Home Screen.

i have:

- redownload the app multiple times

- ran addition factory resets

After a lot of back and forth and trying to find work around I ended up getting past the password login by disabling my password from my WiFi and connecting to an open access point.  This is obviously not ideal but allowed me to setup my device.  I have not turned my WiFi password back on yet so tbd if it causes issues in the future.

Hi @Chigaming23!

Thank you so much for reaching out about the issue you have been experiencing with the Meta Horizon app.

We would first like to say that we really appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have already attempted and just how proactive you have been in trying to find a resolution to your issue!

In order to work towards a resolution to get everything connected for yourself once more we would advise submitting a bug report to our engineering team. Based on the nature of the issue you're experiencing we know you would struggle to do so through the app itself so please check through this handy article we have linked here for you as it details exactly how you can force open the bug report tool on your headset.

Since you have been able to successfully pair the headset and app, it will allow you to then submit a report about the issue you're experiencing with the connected app. Once our engineering team get their hands on the data in the bug report they should be able to work to get this issue straightened out for you as quickly as possible!

I also have this problem and i really cannot believe, how meta always manages to break the app again and again.

that would not be a problem if support was good, but as already experienced in the past, the support will tell "naah, quest1 is not supported anymore, buy a new headset"

:(((((
