Meta quest 2 wont connect to wifi

Trying to connect to wifi and it says check password and try again - when i try through the app it says network connection timed out.  I have tried a factory reset and nothing is working.  It’s definitely not my WiFi as everything else is connected perfectly and I’ve entered the correct password upwards of 50 times.  I have tried forget network but same error comes up- I have tried emailing customer service but they aren’t getting back to me.   Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi

Thanks so much for helping
I removed it. Then it added again. I had to try all the options of set up as not all would let me put password in. The one that worked was WPS/WPS2 ( something like that)

I googled SKY and 5ghz.
Apparently sky don't separate them

It works !!!!!

Thanks
Charlene

Hey there, @skyelisax. We definitely want to make sure you're able to get connected to your local Wi-Fi network, so we'd love to help take a further look to get you running smoothly.

To continue troubleshooting your network and your device further, we would like to gather the following details:

  • Is this the first time connecting the headset to your Wi-Fi network?
  • Has a Hotspot or new Wi-Fi network been tested with the device?
  • If using a dual-band router, let's make sure the 5GHz is being used.
  • What is the current software version of the VR headset?

Additionally, we'd like to attempt a few more troubleshooting steps outside the ones you've attempted:

  • Forget the current Wi-Fi network on the device
  • Uninstall the Meta Quest mobile app
  • Hard reboot the headset by holding the power button for 30 seconds
  • Reinstall the Meta Quest mobile app

Once everything comes back up, do let us know how things appear. We'd be happy to work with you to take a further look into the device!

Hi

I'm having the same issues.  I got a new router today. Now the occulas won't connect.

I've rebooted it. Still says passwords incorrect.

How would you make sure you are connected to 5ghz?

I will try the other things before having to factory reset. My son is very worried about loosing data

Hey there @Badbonestiger! We're pleased you've already consulted our previously provided advice on Wi-Fi connectivity! If the network password is still saying it's incorrect, disconnect from the network, reconnect, and reenter the Wi-Fi password. Let us know if that helps!

With regard to making sure you're connected to 5Ghz, this may depend a bit on the exact router you possess. Typically, if you have separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks, you will see essentially two networks available- one may be only your "NetworkName" and another "NetworkName-5G." Your mobile device should be able to see both- your headset however may not. You may also consider reaching out to your Internet Service Provider for more detailed information regarding your router or internet service! Please take a look at your available networks, and let us know what you find.
