Meta quest 3 latest update broke YouTube vr

So I just updated to the latest update and now YouTube vr refuses to open no matter what I do, I click on it and thats it, nothing happens it just reacts to the click by its quick bounce animation and thats it. I've restarted, I've reset, I e checked the update, I've uninstalled YouTube and reinstalled and nothing works twfh is going on? How can I five what the devs just destroyed?

In order for us to get a better understanding, do you mind answering the following questions listed below? 

 

  • Are you able to launch other applications? Does the problem occur with more than one app?
  • When did this start? Were any changes made besides the latest update?
  • Can you confirm that the app has been downloaded and installed on the headset?

Hello. I am having the same issue with the youtube app on the meta quest 3. The app shows as downloaded and installed but won't open. I have tried all the same methods as the original poster with no success. Other apps seem to open Fine. The app opened after the initial install that has since been unable to open.

Firstly, we would be grateful if you could answer a few questions first:

  • Did you download YouTube from a Meta platform, i.e. not via side-loading or any third-party platforms?
  • Do you see any error messages when you try to open the app?
  • Did you make any changes just before this problem began?

Thanks for the quick reply. The answer to your questions are below:

 

1. I downloaded them from the Meta app store. I have not looked into any outside means of downloading apps.

 

2. The first time I try to open the app after a system restart, a prompt comes up about the boundaries, but both choices (pass through or create new boundary) result in the app not loading.

 

3. I couldn't say if there were any changes made. I just purchased the Meta quest 3. The first time I installed the app it worked. Since the. I have downloaded the Meta app on my pc to connect to my pc, but that's it. Unknown if that would be related, but that's the only notable change I made.

In this case, we would recommend logging out and back into the Meta Horizons mobile app, as this can sometimes resolve issues with apps not launching on the headset. If the problem persists after this, since you have already tried the same troubleshooting steps as the original poster, what we would recommend is reaching out to the YouTube app developer.
