Meta quest 3 pairing issues

Hello,

Recently my headset stopped recognizing my left hand controller. I tried to get it paired through all the support suggestions, and ultimately tried a factory reset. Now however, when I power on from the reset, it just shows a short video of the tabs being pulled from the controllers, and says to go to meta.com/quest/pairing.

I've ensured the app on my phone is updated, and it doesn't find the headset. It tells me to turn on the wifi on the headset, but the headset doesn't do anything except play the video for the pulling of the tabs. If it helps, I probably have < 5 or 6 hours of total playtime since I bought it a while back. and its always been kept with care. Any suggestions or should I enact the warranty?

Welcome to the club. We currently sit at 1000s of unhappy quest 3 users. Congratulations u now own a $500 paper weight. Be prepared for customer service to lie to you and offer no solution. I myself am looking into class action lawsuits. I’m on replacement #4 and haven’t played 1 since they send out no working refurbished units. They send out knowing they don’t work and won’t pair. Oculus 3 is the worst product I’ve ever purchased and customer service is the worst on the planet. They are full of lies and empty promises.

  • Is the headset fully charged?
  • Had the headset completed all of its updates?
    • The headset needs to be on and connected to Wi-Fi to complete any necessary updates. 
  • Are your headset and phone on the same Wi-Fi network and frequency?
  • Are you using any 3rd party accessories?
  • Is the LED on the controller blinking or solid?

    Yes its fully charged
  • Had the headset completed all of its updates? -
    Yes all updates for hardware, OS and apps were completed, before factory reset 
    • The headset needs to be on and connected to Wi-Fi to complete any necessary updates. 
  • Are your headset and phone on the same Wi-Fi network and frequency? - They would be, but if you read my initial problem statement, you should understand that the headset isn't moving beyond the initial video to pull the tabs from the controllers - before WiFi can be configured
  • Are you using any 3rd party accessories? -
    No
  • Is the LED on the controller blinking or solid?
    - Solid
