So basically, my headset has been bugging out. I’m not sure if it was because I used a different charger than its own one, but pretty much, i was playing gorilla tag, got off, did the usual, but I had setting I didn’t want to have to redo with sidequest, so instead of fully turning my headset off, I just put it in sleep mode. I was only able to do this the first time I did it, the second time I put it to sleep mode, I was going to show a friend a cool thing I learned, and I tried turning my headset on, and it was on the meta startup logo. Just turning on and off. I’m not sure how to explain it. But the startup would happen, I wouldn’t go anywhere past it, not even the logo spinning would happen, it would just turn on, and then suddenly black screen, then turn on again, and so on in an infinite regress. So I searched stuff up, decided maybe it was the charger (I was using my Chromebook charger cause it was faster than the meta quest 3 charger) Chromebook charger worked fine when I used it so it couldn’t be a faulty problem. So I plug in my oculus charger, it was 4 am in the morning so I went to bed hoping for the best. Turned it on the next day, it worked, BUT this time, the logo would spin for longer than usual, startup sound would play, and the. When I got past the logo which was like 3 seconds longer than usual, it would just be a gray screen, I can see the menu for when you hold the power button, the controllers won’t pair, the other stuff would work such as the volume buttons and eye adjustment, I am confused because why is everthing working except for practically the display, like the display works but it doesn’t. and so I searched stuff up, tried to boot device, tried to factory reset it, tried to go into android recovery, I tried to clean the sensor and take the interface off just in case that was the problem, tried blowing into the charging hole, I tried literally everything. When I factory reset, I saw the place your stuck at to set everything up before you can play, only saw the background, for like a second, and then gray screen just fades in. I’m currently attempting to let it fully die to 0% and then using the oculus charger instead of the Chromebook one, charge it back up to 100%. If this doesn’t work I’m asking for any other ideas if not I’ll just use warranty for a new one

Hi there, @JxsiahFye! We'd like to do our best to help get you back to enjoying the VR world to the fullest, so we popped in to help with loading your headset! For a bit of clarification to begin with, please tell us, what color is the LED light when the headset is plugged up to charge with the charger that came with the headset? Also, was the factory reset done through the boot menu on the headset or through the Meta Horizon mobile app? Are you able to load the boot menu at all? This can be done by holding down the power button and volume down button (-) for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound. Let us know if anything changes after you were able to charge the headset back up to 100% with the provided charger and we can continue from there!

The LED works fine, it’s orange when not at 100% and green when at 100%. And yes the led only appears when plugged in, I didn’t the factory reset through boot menu, I tried to on mobile but forgot I unpaired the headset, and yes I can load the boot menu, I even did the android recovery menu too. And I’ll surely let you guys know if my idea works or not.

We really appreciate you letting us know, @JxsiahFye. By the way, we did want to mention proceeding forward, we recommend always using the the power adapter included in the box to charge the headset. It should charge in about 2 hours if using the provided power adapter to charging the headset from a wall outlet. Please note that the performance of third-party adapters cannot be guaranteed to successfully work, even if they appear to be like the official adapter. With this in mind, please keep us updated on how your charging idea works out for you!

Wait no cancel out everything the meta quest 3 stopped working and started blowing air above the cameras on the front of the headset, it won’t turn on I feel like it might blow up, any reason to this? Will it blow up?

Never mind, it went back to the same state it’s currently in. Why is this gray screen thing a thing man. But anyways, once again, any ideas?
