Meta quest horizons app not displaying friends profile pictures in the chat

I don’t know why it’s happening, but it just makes everyone’s profile the gray outline of a person when you don’t have a profile. It makes it extremely hard to tell who’s ready texts and it’s just annoying in general. It works fine in vr but not in the app, please fix.

We understand your concern with being unable to view your friends list, as well as how inconvenient it would be to have to deal with it. We have a few things that you can try out to see if it'll fix this issue; we'll list them out below:

• Sign in and out of the account.
• Check if there are any updates for the application.
• Try with a different internet connection. Check if it's possible to try with mobile data, a hotspot.
• Check to make sure that the headset and phone are on the same network.
• Reinstall your mobile app. 

If these don't help, then we would suggest submitting a bug report so that our engineers can see that this is an issue and address it accordingly. To report a bug with the Meta Horizon mobile app, you can report the bug by shaking your phone until a prompt that says, "Report problem" appears.

Hello , I am also having this same issues and have done refresh, reboots and also factory reset and still the faces are greyed out . And on  horizons I am unable to see my active friends lists

Can you try restarting your headset and ensuring it is connected to the Wi-Fi. If possible try a different Wi-Fi network and check that the headset is paired to your phone. If you are still experiencing issues we recommend submitting a ticket by clicking here.

I have this same problem as well as many of my online friends.

I've done the following many times and it will work for about a day then go back to not showing profile pictures.

• Sign in and out of the account.
• Check if there are any updates for the application.
• Try with a different internet connection. Check if it's possible to try with mobile data, a hotspot.

• Reinstall your mobile app. 

I have also shaken my device and submitted a bug report from my iPhone.

@KaminasWifeNot sure why you marked my post as an accepted solution - It's NOT.  This only works temporarily for many of us "will work for about a day then go back to not showing profile pictures"

A temporary solution is better than no solution. If an actual solution crops up for this, that'll be marked over it.
