Recent;y, there was a PC update on the app (version 71.0.0.238.524) and since then the app always starts when I boot my PC. Not seeing anywhere in the PC app settings where I can turn that off.
Any ideas? It never use to start with Windows before the update.
Thank you.

Hey there, @Gruntled!
There was a post from a user in another thread that may just be the fix for app auto start-up. They provided these steps:
"Step 1. right click on the meta link app and open file location.
Step 2. Press the windows key and R
Step 3. Type in the box shell:startup
Now you have both windows open.
Step 4. Go back to the Oculus window and click on Oculus on the address bar and you should see OculusSetup.exe
Step 5. Copy and paste that app into the startup window you just opened.
Step 6. Now go to settings/apps/startup and you should see Oculus setup app on there and you can now turn it off."
Hopefully this works for you. Let me know if you're still having issues with the app auto starting and we can look into other solutions 🙂

Thanks for the reply, LordArceus.
I tried doing what you suggested and I do now have OculusClient.exe in Windows 11 Settings > Apps > Startup and made sure it was toggled off, and just restarted to test and It opened the Oculus app up.

Hey there! I'm just jumping in for my friend here.
I found that there's a startup apps menu in the Task Manager when you right click the task bar. Does that still have the Oculus app enabled?

I just checked and no, it's not even listed there.

Hi @Gruntled 🙂
you are not alone.
Look at this thread:
Meta Quest Link PTC v71 began opening at system boot with no option to disable
As far as i know there isn't a solution yet, but some people found/have a workaround for that.

Thanks I tried searching for the issue before I posted my thread, but didn't see that other one you linked. I'll check there as well, but it seems to be an issue Meta needs to fix 🙂

Hi @Gruntled!
We can see that you are having issues with the meta link app starting when you start your windows. Yes, normally that's the easiest way if you have problems with PTC.
But for some reason it's not possible to roll back from this version, so people either have to live with that until it's fixed or have workarounds.
