I saw a post on Twitter/X from Meta about a May the 4th be with you sale. The sale is 66% off two Star Wars game bundles and a third standalone game. Clicking the provided link in the tweet took me to the store where the prices were displayed at full cost. After talking to support, they said, "In order to keep our offers fresh, we periodically run promotions for randomly selected customers. It appears as though the promotion you are referring to is not available for you at this time." I am in the USA so my region is Meta supported. It appears many others are having this issue and, after some research, it appears others have had this issue with past sales.
My question is why in the world would Meta promote this way? If you want to run promotions for selected members, fine, but advertise directly to though accounts. It's pretty ridiculous to PUBLICLY announce a sale and then show full price and direct your support team to just say, "Well too bad for you!" At least put a disclaimer that the sale isn't for everyone or even describe your disqualifications so people can know.
I've seen similar things happen with trial versions of games, where I'll get a trial and a friend won't, or the other way around. I've never seen it happen with games on sale, and especially not with high profile sales like that one. I guess all you can do is refuse to buy the game. All those games were pretty old and they go on sale fairly often. Maybe not 66% off, but 40% off frequently.
