Meta thinks i am not old enough for my account

Slimavar543
Honored Guest

Now meta, has sent me an email of (you might not me old enough for a account) which is untrue im a 13 year old which and my birthday is at 2010 october 19 and i wrote for the birthday October 19 1990 different years cause im not comfortable enough with giving Meta/facebook/Oculus/ Instagram that information because of them stealing information out of other people and selling that info they got from the people. Now iam sitting here, wondering of how meta thinks im not old enough for a meta account and my old meta account got suspended for a hacker hacking my account and changing the birthdate so i wouldn’t be old enough for a meta account. Now i think meta got suspiciousness from the names cause the names are the same and before they asked for the ID I didnt give it to them because of the stealing info and getting sued thing, now they are mistaking that im not old enough for a meta account. And they have the audacity to ask for a ID which of course i wont give cause of the same reasons.

You appear to either not know your own birthday or how old you are, since if the birthday is correct you are 13 years old. That's bound to raise some suspicions.

Also, I guess it would be fair to say you lied about your age in the first place and have refused to engage in the process to prove it so you are probably on the back foot when it comes to regaining access to your account.

Hi there, @Slimavar543! We'd like to do our best to make sure you're able to consistently access your account and all your saved VR content, so of course, we've popped in to share some insight! To be clear, if any account information was recently changed on this account, such as the birth date, it could've flagged your account as underage. We understand that you are reaching out about a Meta account that may have been flagged for violation of the Meta Terms of Service. While VR can be a lot of fun, Meta does not allow the creation of accounts or the use of VR by children under the age of 10, which is against the Meta Terms of Service. Customers aged 10-12 years must create a Parent-Managed Account to access devices. If you're account has been flagged, then you may have to fully complete that age verification process in order to regain access. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Thanks for getting back to us, @Slimavar543! To ensure the safety and suitability of our platform for the little ones in our community, a stringent policy has been implemented regarding the creation of accounts by underage individuals. If you feel that this account action has been in error, and we do ask that you utilize the appeal process outlined in the email to address your account issue. Please keep in mind, the form of identification that you upload for the affected account must match the full name on the Meta account itself, so your own ID may not be usable. For more details on the types of identification that is accepted, please check here. If you're having issues, please try out these steps:

  1. If your Meta Account is linked to a Facebook or Instagram account, follow the ID verification instructions to re-enable your account. Then unlink your Meta Account from your Facebook or Instagram account before continuing with the steps below. If your Meta Account is not linked to a Facebook or Instagram account, disregard this step.
  2. You will need to work with two Meta Accounts. One account will be the Child Account (the account that received the account suspension notification email), and the other account will be the Parent or Guardian Meta Account.
  3. Go to (https://auth.meta.com/verify/parents) and log in to the account you would like to transition to a Parent Managed Meta Account
  4. Copy the above link and paste it into a new incognito or private window to log into the Parent or Guardian Meta Account
  5. Follow the steps on screen by logging into or creating a parent account
  6. Go back to the original browser window from step #2, refresh the page, and accept the new parent account as the supervisor.
  7. Click the link to accept the new parent.

Hello, Neet88!

While VR can be a lot of fun, the creation or use of any Meta account by a person under the age of 10 is a violation of the Meta Terms of Service. A customer aged 10-12 years (or 10-13 years if in South Korea, Spain, or Quebec) must have their parent or guardian create a Parent-Managed Account for them to access Meta Quest 2 and 3 devices. Please have your parent or guardian contact Meta Store Support for help with your problem.
