I have preordered metro awakening for quest 3. it says cross buy with rift store. Where is the rift store? is it the meta quest link app on pc? can i use my quest3 as a stand alone headset with the rift store to play the game with my pc horsepower?
When you use a Quest on its own (stand alone), you only see and can only play games from the Quest store.
When you connect the Quest to a gaming PC using USB (Link) or WIFI (Airlink) and that PC is running the Quest Link app, the Quest will now show and play games from the Rift store. The games run on the PC and the video and audio is streamed using USB or WIFI to the Quest. This can potentially give better performance and gfx quality, depending on your PC, your WIFI, etc.
As Metro is cross buy, that means buying the game once gives you both store versions. So you can play the game stand alone (Quest store) or linked to a PC (Rift store).
