Mic glitch meta 3

My son's mic kicks out and he is unable to hear other players on big ballers vr used to work fine now hardly works at all any suggestions? Please help!!

Hey there, @Nachoi12party! We don't want audio and microphone issues getting in the way of your son being able to enjoy BIG BALLERS VR and we're glad to help you out!

Please answer the following question for us:

  1. Is he experiencing the issues only while playing the one game or with other games as well?

Also, have him try doing a hard reboot of his Meta Quest 3.

Hard reboot steps

  1. Turn off the headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume buttons on the headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on the headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on the headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on the headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

I wasn't able to get it to factory reset. Also he says it is only big ballers vr. He has a ton of progress and is an Allstars at a 137+ level score id hate for him lose those rankings and negate all the money we have spent. Is it a cloud storage game. And can u go a little more in depth one a factory reboot for me  e.i. button hold times and such. Screen just goes blank and the sound of a small fan kicks on. Thanks for your time.

Hello @Nachoi12party! We would be more than happy to provide further assistance. Before you try to perform a factory reset, have you or your son attempted to uninstall the app and reinstall it? Did he try headphones to see if there was audio?  We can also suggest that the microphone be reset. Here are the steps to perform that:

  • Settings > System > Sound > Toggle Microphone

Thanks for getting back with us @Nachoi12party. Lets give this a try, 

  1. With your headset on and powered on, press and hold the power button on the right side of your headset until you see the Power off screen.
  2. Select Restart. Your headset will turn off and then turn back on.

If you're headset is unresponsive or you're otherwise unable to restart your headset, you can do a force restart:

  1. Press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. If your headset doesn't automatically turn back on, press the power button until your headset turns back on.

Once you've tried that hard restart, go back to Settings>System>Sound> Toggle Microphone. In addition to this, if he has not already, uninstall and reinstall the app. Hope this helps, and we look forward to hearing from you!

  • Were you able to get his headset restarted or factory reset at all? 
  • Was there any improvement as far as the audio or mic quality after he uninstalled and re-installed the app?
