What's the most efficient way I can transfer my account and other data/settings from one Quest 2 to another one and ensure minimal or no data loss?
Background: I got a Quest 2 from my company to work on a project. That project is now complete, and I need to factory reset and return the hardware. I just received another Quest 2 I ordered, and want to move my account and all saved game data, settings/preferences, images, videos, and other stored files over to the new unit. Hoping I can find a fast, effective way to handle this that won't result in any lost data, particularly game saves or other data that would be very difficult or impossible to recover if I simply removed my account from the old unit and added it to the new one.

Hey K0RB3NDALLAS! We saw you have a concern about some possible data loss coming up as you're returning your project device. We know it can be pretty disheartening to lose valuable game data so we'd love to provide some direction!
The best thing we could suggest would be to ensure you have the cloud backup enabled within the headset with the below steps:
In regard to checking the latest saves, as well as data; that can also be done with the following:

Cool. This looks like it should cover most of my saved game data. But what about system settings, saved guardian spaces, virtual environment, or saved image and video screenshots?

I also need to know the correct process for setting up the new device on my account. Should I add the new device in the Oculus app before removing the old one? Can I even do that? At what point should I do the factory reset on the device I need to return?

Hey there friend! First we would like to say, Welcome to the Family! We understand you need assistance with setting up your headset and account, so let's get to work!
How to connect your device to your Meta Quest account: Before getting started please make sure your headset is fully charged, turned on, Bluetooth enabled, and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. It's important you keep your headset close to your mobile device, this is just so you have the best Bluetooth connection possible.
If you happen to run into anything while working through this process, just know we will always be here. Always here to help!

Everything seemed to work fine last night. But today when I powered up the headset, the virtual environment had been switched to the default (dessert terrace). Furthermore, that is the only one listed in the virtual environment settings. I can't even choose to install any of the other ones anymore, despite the fact that, before I powered the unit down last night, there were a bunch of them listed in there, & I had the cyber city one installed & selected. How can I fix this?

Hey there! We hate to see you're having issues with changing your environment, and we're here to help!
We suggest trying out the following options:
1. Sign out the mobile app
2. Reboot the headset
3. Sign back in to the mobile app
4. Re-pair the 2 devices
Let us know how it goes!

Steps 1-3 were no problem. But the most complicated step (4. Re-pair the 2 devices), I have no idea how to do this. After signing back into the mobile app, when I go to devices. my Quest 2 is already showing up there and connected, and I don't see any menu options for "re-pairing". In fact, no matter how hard I looked, I can't seem to find that option anywhere in the Oculus app.

We understand you're having trouble re-pairing your controllers, and we can definitely help.
We suggest checking out the link we have here on how to un-pair and re-pair your controllers.
We look forward to hearing how it goes, let us know when you can!

Actually, if you read my earlier post, it's not a problem with the controllers. It was with the virtual environment not working properly. From the instructions you gave in your response here, it sounded like step #3 was re-pairing the headset in the Oculus app. Can you please send info on how to re-pair the headset in the app?
