My PIN does not work even after reset

Quest 2: I've reset my PIN 3 times, and no matter what I cannot make a purchase in the store. I enter the number and it just rejects and eventually prompts "forgot your PIN?" So that I can reset it. So I do. But the new one doesn't work either. I'm stuck in a loop and so is someone else that I know with the same headset. What can I do? This is so frustrating

Hey there! We understand you would like to make a purchase in the store, but after resetting your PIN, you are still experiencing difficulties.  No worries, we would be happy to assist you with that. We'd like you to try these steps using a PC or other available browser.

 

To change your Meta Quest PIN using the Meta Quest website:

  1. Go to your profile on auth.meta.com.
  2. Click PIN/Security in the left menu.

Enter your current Password, then enter your new PIN twice and click SAVE.


If above doesn't work, try same steps by following below troubleshooting:
 

  • Try after clearing history/cache from your browser
  • Try from another device completely. (i.e. another computer, phone, or tablet.)
  • Try using a different browser. (i.e. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.)

I have this same problem and am tired of the endless loop. Did you ever find a solution?

Heya @chipolsonphoto! Having trouble with purchasing a game because of your PIN can be discouraging. We provided some steps in the thread above so you can try those and see if it resolves your problem. If not, no need to worry. We have a couple more steps that should do the trick.

First we like for you to do a Cloud Backup. This will make sure you won't lose any saved data on your headset, after doing a Factory Reset.

  1. Put on your headset, then hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select System, then select Backup.
  4. Select the toggle next to Cloud Backup to turn Cloud Backup on or off.

After that we'll like for you to do a Factory Reset. You can check out the different ways of doing a Factory Reset on our Support Website.

I'm having the same problem. After I reset it it doesn't work. I even changed it and it says the pin successfully changed and when I try to put it in it doesn't work please help.

Hey @Hggggggggg. We totally understand how not being able to make a purchase due to PIN issues can be concerning. We'll like more than happy to point you in the right direction to get this fixed. 

 

If you haven't already, can you please try the troubleshooting steps that we put in the thread earlier. Now if you've already done those, we'll like for you to go to our support website for more assistance. We do have a limited amount of resources that we have access to from here, but our support team will have everything you need to get this right for you.

i have the same issue. not even support was able to help they just said someone will reachout. still no fix to this day, unbelievable!!!!!

pin/security isn’t even an option. there is no reset pin option there. I have tried all these steps and the ones below and still have had no luck. this is giving me a headache, im very disappointed in my quest 2
