My Q3 shows up as Q2 and Touch

When I plug in my Meta Quest 3 512GB with link cable. So it appears as Quest 2 and Touch see image below

It should say Quest 3 and Touch see image below

I have updated everything and reinstalled Meta Quest Link. But the error remains.

Hey there, @Odi.Dogson.I and welcome to the community forums! 👋

That's a strange glitch especially as the picture is showing a Quest 3 and not a 2 so it may just be the title that is bugged. Do you still have access to all the functionality on the app despite it saying Quest 2? 🤔

When competing a reinstall did you delete all oculus files from your PC directories? If not, please try a manual uninstall/reinstall with the following steps:

  1. Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet
  3. Backup any necessary content
  4. Reboot into Safe Mode
  5. Uninstall the Meta Horizon PC app using the Control Panel
  6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files
  7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
    • Note: The AppData folder is usually hidden. Use these steps to access AppData.                                                      a. Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog window                                                                                      b. Type %AppData% in the Run box and click OK or press Enter                                                                            c. File Explorer will launch to the AppData\Roaming subfolder                                                                               d. Click AppData in the File Explorer address bar to show all three subfolders in the AppData location.
  8. Restart your computer in normal mode
  9. Reconnect your computer to the internet
  10. Install the Meta Horizon PC app again using the setup tool from our website here
  11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset

If you're still having issues, let me know and I can see what else we can suggest 🙂

I don't know if I have all the MQ3 functions. But if you look at the picture it says Q2 but it also says Q3 by the smaller icon. I will try what you suggest.

If it does nothing for the function of my MQ3, it is a bit annoying that it says Q2.

LordArceus.

By the way, thanks for the suggestion to fix my problem.
