Hello
Oculus was good until the lizard king bought it out and merged it with Facebook. We paid a lot of money for the Quest 2 and all the games. Since the lizard king bought Oculus and merged it with Facebook, things have gone down hill. We have been sent an email that if we cant confirm that my Son is 13 before the 31st July, his account will be terminated. I understand that some rich lizard, with no ethics who says he was 'once human' now owns Oculus, but you have to understand, that we paid a lot of money before this rich non sentient with too much money who wants to control everything (much like Elon Musk) decided to merge it with Facebook and make it over 13s. My Son will be turning 13 five days later. How do we sort this, or will be be given a 100% refund? This is unethical. Can you transfer the account to me (I don't want Facebook, I don't care about politics right or leftwing, but Facebook is a right wing boomer cesspit and i don't want to be linked or associated with it.) Can you fix this immediately, or give us a 100% refund of all the money we spent before lizard man came along and changed the goal posts. He signed up before rich lizard man came along and added his narcissistic rules. If your lizard lord overrules you, I'm done with Oculus and will do everything I can to be refunded in full as this is downright theft, but a non sentient lizard being with no emotions wouldn't understand. We never signed up to be part of lizard beings' study into human behaviour.

Is anyone here going to help or is lizard man just going to kick us off and make us lose all the money we spend then purchase it all back again in 5 days? This seems like a total scam. How do I transfer it to me, I am over 13 I am an adult (and I can transfer it back after 5 days when he is 13). This seems like a total scam, this whole 13 thing, he signed up before it was over 13 and linked to Facebook. I have morals, so there is no way I want to sign up for that trash Facebook, it's just full of boomers spewing bigoted filth. Wouldn't it be easier if you just cleaned out all the trash from Facebook and moderated it instead of forcing Oculus users to use Facebook and then add age restrictions. If you twisted my arm, I 'might' sign up for Reddit, but Facebook? no way - it is total filth, and I don't want my name associated with that filth. Lizardborg has ruined a good product and got greedy trying to take back everything we have paid for, much like Jeff Benzos and Musk have ruined anything they have touched.

Hey there, @fdsvfdvgdbvg! We understand how important it is to be able to manage your son's account. We can certainly provide clarification on the age verification process. For users that are between the ages of 10-13, they will need to have their account converted into a parent-managed account. More information about the different types of accounts and which one your child needs can be found in our article, The Right Meta Account for You.
This does not mean that they need to transfer their games to a parent's account, but rather, they just need their account converted to be the proper type of account. To do this, please go to Auth.Meta.com and follow the steps to complete the age-down process. Keep in mind, the account may lose access to active subscriptions, as subscriptions are only available for our older users.
If you are encountering any issues with this process, please clarify at which point you get to, and we will be more than happy to take a closer look.
Also, we wanted to provide a little more clarity about the Facebook account concerns. A Facebook account is not required to use your Quest 2. The only type of account that is required is a Meta account, which is a separate account type from a Facebook account. More information on this can be found in our support article here.
We hope that this information helps! We will be here if you have any further questions or concerns. Take care!

Hello again, @fdsvfdvgdbvg ! We just wanted to check in and make sure everything is going okay. If you still need help with this, please let us know. We are happy to continue helping however we can!

I haven't done it yet, as I've been stressed about you saying that we will lose our subscriptions? Does that mean the games we legally paid for (instead of pirating off sidequest?). We did the right ethical thing by saying no to piracy and now I am scared that we are going to be punished for doing the right thing. Can you assure me that we won't lose any of the games we have legally paid for. This is a stressful experience for someone who has tried to and done the right thing. Now i can understand why so many people pirate.

The recurring payments for the subscriptions would be canceled, but games that you purchased will remain on the account.
If you are referring to a Meta Quest + subscription, once you are no longer a paying Meta Quest+ subscriber, you will lose access to all previously redeemed free Meta Quest+ titles and not be able to redeem anymore titles. When you resubscribe, you will regain access to all previously redeemed Meta Quest+ titles and the titles that are currently available for as long as you are a subscriber. However, in order to resubscribe to the Meta Quest + service, users must be 17 years or older in North America and 18 years or older in the rest of the world.
Hopefully this additional information helps! Feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions or concerns!

Right, this is the problem. I am totally confused. Everything was straight forward until Mark Lizardberg got involved and changed all the rules. We bought a product. He decided to buy the company and impose his stupid rules.
The other day you told me that I could convert it to a parent managed account. Now you are telling me that users must be 18 years or older. It seems that its not only me, but no one not even Oculus staff understand these rules that mark Zuckerberg has imposed, and that is what scares me. If you don't understand the rules, and you tell me something wrong, who is going to fix it if I lose everything? This is totally messed up as we bought the product Oculus Quest 2 (we do not have a meta quest, we have an Oculus Quest 2) before mark Zuckerberg bought the company and now he is setting retrospective rules for people who have already paid a lot of money for games before these rules were brought in..

Hey @fdsvfdvgdbvg, we understand the confusion and would love to provide further clarity! As previously stated, parent-managed accounts are needed for Meta Quest members between the ages of 10 and 12 years old. This helps create a safer environment for younger members, offering parental controls and additional protection. Members that are 13 years of age and up are able to use Meta Quest devices through our Meta accounts. However, per our Meta Quest Store terms, members must be at least 18 years of age (17 years in North America) to subscribe to our Meta Quest +.
We hope this provides additional help. Let us know if you have any further concerns!

Update: I binned the Oculus Quest 2. It's in the dump. I can't even sell this to a pawn shop. No one wants it now that the lizard king has bought and ruined Oculus. Even signing into these forums is plain stupid where I get an email with a code sent instead of the ability to use a password. Maybe that is how lizards act, but humans don't act that way.
I don't want some stupid data harvesting and data selling company having any more insight into a child's life. How do we know that he isn't selling videos of my kids to P Diddy.
Lizard being has ruined Oculus. Don't say that is not true, because his sister is telling us we need to eat insects and rodents. I am not joking. That is a lizard diet. Proof that their family are lizards.
Musk and Zuckerberg are narcissists only good at destroying a good existing product from the inside.
I am going now - to dinner at the tackle shop.
