My left quest 2 controller not working, keep flashing ( no sos, just flashing in loop )

It started behaving like this during normal gameplay for no reason, I never hit it or poured any liquid on it or anything like that. I reset the headset to factory settings, changed batteries, unpaired and paired the controller with the headset, even left the controller without batteries for 30 minutes. Nothing helped!

I have been having the same problem too.

Hey @gdog10610! We see you're having some trouble with your controller flashing. We know how hard it is to play with controllers that don't work, which is why we'd love to take a closer look into this for you! Before we move forward, we need to gather a few more details. Please provide the following, listed below:

  • Do the controller pair to the headset?
  • Is there any damage done to the controllers?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
  • Does the controller LED light turn on? If so, what color is the LED, and is it blinking or solid?

We look forward to hearing back from you!

Who do I contact about this issue. I have done all the troubleshooting and purchased an additional controller only for it to do the same thing. Very frustrating

For me it worked, removing the battery, then putting it back, starting pairing mode, turning on the headset, removing the left controller from the application on the phone and connecting it again, it works for some time, then you have to repeat the action again, and you ALWAYS have to take out the batteries and wait some time before doing these things again. I've already bought a new controller, but I'm waiting for delivery and I discovered this method of temporary repair.

Hey there, @jakeatkinson0331! Getting your VR gameplay back on track is a top priority for us, so we're eager to assist further! In order for us to get a better idea of this particular problem, could you please clarify the following details?:

  • Is your left controller able to be paired to the headset in the Meta Quest mobile app? (Steps to do so can be found here.)
  • Has your controller ever been dropped or had any liquids spilled on it?
  • Were you able to try replacing the battery with a different battery from a different brand?
  • Has this controller ever functioned properly in the past?
