My oculus will not charge.

So my sister had just bought a brand new oculus and I was gonna get it set up but we had gave the controllers to my brother and I had to wait because I cannot set it up without two controllers, so I turned it off and put it away, it was half way charged when I turned it off. Couple days later when I got some controllers, I tried to turn it on and it wouldn’t turn on so I plugged it in and it just glowed red so I already knew it’s because the battery was dead, but i had it charging for 3 days and it didn’t wanna turn on, now it just blinks red multiple times and stops whenever I plug it in. I’ve looked it up and many people say to switch chargers or plug it in somewhere else or even try to reset holding the volume button and the power button, but I have tried those and it doesn’t seem to work at all, it just blinks red no matter what I do. Can someone help?

Hello @chincken !

We understand that your Oculus is not charging. This is not the VR experience we want you to have. We can help you to resolve this issue. Before going into troubleshooting steps, can you let us know  which Meta Quest device you are using?

I am using an oculus quest 2.

Hello Chincken!

Based on your description of the situation there are a few troubleshooting steps and recommendations that we believe can help you.

For example, if you are charging the headset with your computer, bare in mind, that it typically provides less power than outlets and may require more time to charge.

Instead, try a different power source. If possible, test the cable and charger (adapter) separately to determine the faulty component.

You can also try charging the headset without the facial interface. Some facial interfaces may block the proximity sensor which can impact the power of the headset.

We hope you find this information useful. Please come back to us if you need extra help. We are here to assist you along the way!

This really has nothing to do with it, I plug my charger into an outlet. I’ve had an oculus before for a couple of years so I know when the battery is dead dead, it glows red when you plug it in, but this just blinks red continuously and then the blinking takes pauses and then it stops. I can’t restart it or whatever you do when you hold the volume button and the power button, nothing works it just doesn’t turn in and it’s brand new, not even set up. When I had it on before it was working just fine and it was charged, but I had turned it off and now it won’t turn back on.

Turn on*

Hey there @chincken,

We understand you want to get gaming as soon as possible with your Quest 2 and having issues setting it up is not what you want.

Please allow the headset to charge for at least 2 hours. Also, use another cable/charger and charge the headset without the facial interface.

Please let us know if this has resolved your charging issue.

We can't wait to see you in VR!
