My quest 3 does not stop resetting

I was playing VR last night and was having a fun time then today almost 12 hours after I played it. I wanted to play again but when I put the headset on it started to bug out and did not let me even get to the out of the accounts screen. Everytime I got on my vr it would crash and reset every 5 seconds after turning on the VR.

Hey there, @Bobde407! We want to do everything that we can to get your device back up and running, so let's work together to get to the bottom of this! Please try the troubleshooting steps below and then report back in to update us:

  • If you have any accessories that plug into your device, please remove those.
    • For example, the Elite Strap with battery, external battery packs, etc.
  • Hard reset the device:
    1. Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
    2. If the boot-up sound is not heard:
      1. Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
  • Check to make sure that your device is fully charged.
    • Please have it plugged in for at least 2 hours.
    • Note the color of the LED on the side of the headset.
      • If, after charging for 2 hours, you still see a red LED, this could be a sign of a battery or charging issue, which can cause the headset to not start up properly.
  • Ensure that cloud backup is enabled and factory reset the device.

If all of this fails, please reach out to us through PM so we can gather some sensitive information to take a closer look into our other options. Please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! I don't have cloud backup on and I can't turn it on because my vr is not set up to any pc or electronic

Thank you for giving everything else a try! If cloud backup cannot be enabled, the factory reset process will reset the device back to the default settings, and in-game progress and other data may be lost. You can still re-download the games that you have purchased and own. We still recommend this step as a last resort when all other troubleshooting is exhausted, so go ahead and give it a shot.

If your device is still not functional afterwards, please reach out to us via PM with the steps in our last post. We are more than happy to continue looking into this together.

Hi @Bobde407 🙂

@MetaQuestSupport meant cloud backup on the Quest.

This is normally enabled by default.....so, if you are haven't manually disabled it in the Quest settings, you should be save.

Not all games support cloud backup though, you can look at your backups here:

Hey there, @Bobde407! We are just checking in to see if you were able to complete these steps and if they helped or not! We're more than happy to continue helping, if needed!
