My quest 3 isn't charging with my link cable and I've had no problem doing it with quest 2 but it just stays at the same percentage.. I haven't tried the charger the comes in the box but It should be charging.

With my 45 watt charger it maintains not sure it would charge I will let you know. I also have had good results with Bobo m3 head strap battery it adds at least 1 -2 hours

Yes I've noticed the change.

I'm using a USB-C 22w hub that has a watt meter on it (I have two identical hubs and have tested both). I'm not sure if it's an intentional change or a bug but since v60, the headset begins to charge at about 22w while the headset is outside of the boundary, but as soon as it's brought into the boundary, the headset appears to reset the charge connection and it drops back to around 10watts charge. So at best, now it will only maintain the current charge instead of topping it up to between 85-100%

after experimenting some more, it seems to occur with cabled link only. Airlink / VD still maintain 14-22 watts while in use with the cable only used for charging. Maybe it's an intentional change to protect the headset in some way?

Dear Meta - can you confirm if the charge resetting and dropping back to about 10watts when using cabled link, is an intentional change? If not can we please get this fixed? 🙂

I have the same issue.

I have the link cable plug-in into USB 3 gen2 PC port.

1. The charging works while NOT using a Quest Link. So the charing with PC is possible, however:

2. If I connect with quest link and leave the headset in stand-by mode sometimes it charges slowly, sometimes it doesnt?

3. During an active quest link session its hard for me to say if its charging or not since neither Oculus Desktop app nor Oculur VR interface show a charging animation (not even sure if those two apps can show a charging animation at all).

TLDR - it sounds like a software / driver issue and not a hardware issue. The charging works under some circumstances, and not in others. This is very confusing for users and bad consumer experience for PCVR users.

Wow i'm glad i found this thread right away. Cancelling my quest 3 order now... Gonna pick a pcvr only headset i guess.

It's just so frustrating that you spent billions for research and development and came out with this piece of garbage. And I hope those poor guys who are forced to use 45 watt chargers don't burn their devices.

@symptomx42 Just to let you know I got mine to work great with that cable and 45w charger, goes forever. The new BOBOVR headstrap has batteries that you can swap out to run it wireless for an unlimited amount of time too. It's a great headset for PCVR.

Hey all followers of this thread. Just wanted to jump back in since I last posted. I've been using the Quest 3 with the INIU Link Cable and the 45W Anker Nano II Charger after the v62 update and I have had absolutely zero problems with the wired link connection or charging the headset. I play iRacing nightly and I get solid performance and battery power is always in the positive even after my daughter plays beat saber and leaves the headset at 2% battery lol. Plug it in and it's solid and by the time I'm done racing the headset is at least at 50% charge.

I do still have my issues with Meta and I wish the USB C cable was a display cable but it seems other PCVR headsets are going this way too. For the price point you can't beat it unfortunately. I haven't tried the original non-powered link cable so I can't say if that charges or not. Hopefully this has helped some people out in the long run.

Could you detail the process you use when starting up your PC, quest 3, and the INIU cable? I have the same as you and usually only get 1/2 hour for ever 10-12 percent of quest battery.

Well, I’m running windows 11 pro. I did actually forget to mention this but I also use a usb c adapter and I’m connecting to my motherboards usb c header that goes to a single port usb c.

I don’t really do anything extra. I run avast av and some other stuff like steam, discord, epic games client, mess like that.

i think I recall having more issues when I used the usb a connector to my motherboard now that I think about it.

Here are all the parts I referenced:
Syntech USB C to USB Adapter

GRAUGEAR USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C panel

YOJOCK USB C Tester Power Meter

i bought this so I could plug it in between charger and cable to monitor when it was pulling 8-9 volts if it’s not it will drain. To get it to do that I follow the instructions with the cable plugin to the charger then
