Hello everyone,
I’m looking for assistance with getting my Oculus DK2 to work on my modern PC after facing some serious issues with the Oculus Runtime installation. I really want to play older VR games, but I've encountered multiple problems.
My Setup:
PC Specs:
GPU: RTX 3070
CPU: i7-9700 (3.00 GHz)
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Windows 10
Issues Encountered:
1. Installation Attempt: I installed Oculus Runtime 0.4.4 to play older VR games, but it caused my PC to get stuck on the loading screen after I restarted.
2. Boot Failure: After several failed attempts to reboot, I had to factory reset my PC.
What I Need Help With:
Getting DK2 Recognized: How can I get my Oculus DK2 recognized and functioning on my modern setup?
Compatibility Fixes: Are there specific drivers or modified versions of the Oculus software that I can use to run the DK2 without causing issues?
Creating Custom Software: If I wanted to create software to improve compatibility for older Oculus games on the DK2, how would I go about it? Is there any legal concern with this approach?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I’m eager to get my DK2 up and running again.
@syobon_karo you may have already seen these threads to get the DK2 working. Yes it is old tech which may throw up a few bugs, but there's still a community of people that still regularly use them.
