New Pro Controllers will pair but not update

I recently purchased new pro controllers for my son's Quest 2.  He is in Arkansas and I'm in Oklahoma, so we are trouble shooting this issue over state lines!  The controllers pair successfully, but the update status never changes from 0%.  We've paired and unpaired over a dozen times in the span of the past week, and we've also done resets on both the controllers and the headset itself.  Charges and headset are fully charged and connected to Wifi.  He has also cleared unneeded data to make sure there is room for the update.

 

We've both done a lot of research and see that this is an issue others have.  But, the only suggestions I've found are the factory resets and re-pairing exercises.  Both have been completed multiple times with no change in result.  Should he just continue to re-pair and hope for the best?  I have a very frustrated 12 year old (and I'm a  fairly frustrated single mom here who was so excited to provide these controllers!)

Help please 🙂 🙂 🙂

PS-he headset was purchased in December and his right controller stopped working.  Should I look into a warranty replacement for the controller or is that not something that is covered?
