New Rift owner, lots of game crashing!

Hi, I have a brand new gaming rig, and so far The Climb, Robo Recall, and Wilsons Heart, all crashing on me at some point or another, time varies but I never get far.
In The Climb, I couldn't even get through the first tutorial without crashes. Uninstall, reinstall twice seemed to fix the problem. Today I finally got to play the first climb in the game, and couldn't reach the end because of another crash. Played Robo Recall for the first time, couldn't even get through the tutorial. Wilson's heart... made it to the second room, crashed.

My system is way above recommended spec.
I7700k, 32GB RAM, MSI GTX1080Ti Armor OC. 256GB SSD with operating system and 3TB SATA where I have all of the games installed
3 sensors, 2 in USB 3.0 and correctly recognized, and third in usb 2.0 with no problems.

Yesterday I ensured that Windows was completely up to date, all USB power management for sensors is turned off.
I updated Motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers along with all other relevant hardware. I updated NVIDIA drivers to latest version as well from the NVIDIA website.

I don't know what else I can do. PLEASE HELP! While I'm in VR the experience is great! But so far of what I have tried in the past week of getting things setup bit by bit the only things that have not crashed are Touch Tutorial/First Contact, TheBlu, and Spiderman Homecoming! I have a large library and its really frustrating. Wife would like to play too but how can I hand over buggy software for her and friends to enjoy!!

Can you upload you LogGatherer log zip file? There may be a clue in there.

Also, feel free to submit a support ticket. Thanks.

It looks like your OS is in a bad state. Can you consider reinstalling Windows? Windows 10 is preferred.

Repair installation of the OS or completely wipe and reinstall? I'm also waiting on next response from Support ticket. I provided them with the same details and work so far.

per their request i also did a repair install of Oculus and then added exceptions in Windows Defender for Oculusclient.exe and OculusVR.exe but I haven't gotten to re-test yet.

Cyber, here is my latest update sent to support. I also had no response from you regarding the above comment on repair-installation or clean installation of Windows requested:
-------
Unfortunately the Repair installation of Oculus did not work. I also tried the complete uninstall and fresh re-install of the software. Also, following the backup/restore instructions did not work. So I started downloading a portion of my library again.

I still cannot even make it through the first climb in Zen Bay in The Climb app without crashing.

The most recent error I received is: "The Climb (TM) has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

I also have received this in other cases: "HMD problem detected. You have a pending hardware issue that is preventing you from entering VR. Please check that your headset and sensor are connected. This message will disappear once the problem is solved. Afterwards press the Oculus Home button and go back to the game."

Were you able to find anything useful in the logs I uploaded? you made no comments about that. I also considered updating the Fresno Logic drivers on the Inateck 4 port USB 3.0 expansion card, but when I click "update driver" while in the device manager it claims to have the most recent ones. I have heard mixed reviews about getting the latest driver from the Vendor website instead of what is provided by built-in windows drivers. Some people rolled back to the Windows drivers.

In some other case, I have even seen blue screens, but ONLY generated while in VR, not while generally using the computer. Again, this is a brand new Windows 10 gaming system , far above recommended specifications.

Hi goldrush
This post seems rather old but is still relevant for me. Purchased rift recently and facing similar crash incidents. Did your problem get solved ?

I hope Goldrush managed to fix his problem. If problems occurs after some times when running games I suggest to monitor the computer to see if it don't have any kind of problem relative to hot temps for CPU /GPU/MB etc. even a new machine can have a problem from day one, that happen,  reveled with VR as it's pretty intensive. I suggest at least a 15 minutes tests minimum with E.g. prime95 for the CPU and FurMark for the GPU (I usually run both together but watch temps all the time to be sure to not fry my computer).

After troubleshooting on my own and with Oculus and noticing some other oddities like even seeing a BSOD, and a random video issue on startup and then another reboot attempt with no video via any method at all, I brought the machine back to Best Buy after doing all of the normal disconnect/reconnect video card, and different different output connections, etc, etc ,etc.

Geek Squad did a diagnostic and among 3-4 reboots with different video connectivity methods they experienced literally 3 different issues. Unfortunately it had already been 30 days from purchase (rather than within 15) so I could not get a refund back to my credit card BUT they did make a return exception for me and gave me the full cost back on a gift card. At that point I decided to build the machine on my own but since  Best Buy offers a limited variety of parts I decided to trade the card in at cardcash.com at a loss of $125 BUT then I was able to spend all of the remaining money and build the machine through Amazon purchases.

For your reference, the original machine I had waited so patiently for a good sale on was a CyberPower PC. I did plenty of reading on BestBuy reviews and other folks feedback on Facebook... I decided it was worth the risk to see if it would work out since reviews overall were primarily positive. Well, unfortunately that bit me 😞
