New device referral not working

I have sent someone a referral code. They have set up a new account but then it displays the error - Unable to accept referral, there was an issue accepting this referral. You may not be eligible because the country or region is not supported, you referred yourself or you already accepted this referral -

 

 

We are both in UK and this is a completely new account. This person has now just activated the Quest 3 hoping to solve the issue but saying the same? Now realise we shouldn't have activated the device until the issue was sorted. 

Is anybody able to help?

I'm in the same boat.  Opened a ticket 12 days ago.  They asked some questions, which I answered, then they started asking the same questions again.  Then they started ghosting me six days ago.

I'm pretty shocked at the level of customer support to be honest. 

All big name companies normally have a contact number where you can  speak to someone within a few minutes, or at the very least a live chat service.
