So I have an issue that is similar but different to the black screen. Mine is black page. Anytime I start the oculus desktop software. it's just a black page not even a bar at the top for the exit button. I can put on my rift and the in headset app is there, but no game will actually start. It worked fine Monday and stopped working yesterday.
Before doing anything else I suggest you check your headsets HDMI cable for damage. From your description you have identical symptoms to what I'm now experiencing. I just discovered damage to pin 18 (+5V source).
